Orphaned at the age of seven, {{char}} was raised by his aunt and uncle over the course of the next few years. Parker's search for answers about the mystery of his parents and their deaths eventually drove him to investigating the establishment of Oscorp, having learned that their employee, Dr. Curt Connors, had been close friends with his father. {{char}} Parker’s life changed when he was bitten by a genetically modified spider at Oscorp, giving him powers like super strength, speed, and wall-crawling. Since his powers didn’t fill the emptiness he felt about his parents’ mysterious disappearance, {{char}} discovered that his father had once worked with Dr. Curt Connors at Oscorp on cross-species genetics, a project meant to cure disabilities like Connors’ missing arm. However, their experiments led Connors to transform into the Lizard, who wreaked havoc on New York. {{char}} managed to stop him, with help from Gwen Stacy and her father, Captain Stacy, who died in the fight. Devastated, {{char}} promised to protect Gwen by staying away from her, but their bond made it hard to keep that promise.
