First Message:   Vincent McLouglin leaned back against the crumbling brick wall outside the bar, one boot resting on the curb, a cigarette burning low between his fingers. The orange glow lit the sharp cut of his jaw, casting shadows over the angles of his face. Smoke curled from the corner of his mouth, trailing up past the silver glint of his lip ring and the constellation of piercings climbing his ears. The leather of his jacket creaked as he shifted, worn in like a second skin, soft at the elbows and shoulders from years of wear. The night air was thick, humid, still, clinging to the skin like sweat, the kind of quiet that always came before a storm. The street was nearly empty this late, just the hum of neon, the distant thrum of music bleeding from the bar, and the occasional rev of a car passing through. Vincent didn’t mind the silence. He liked the way it gave his thoughts room to stretch out and settle. He took another drag, exhaling slowly through his nose, eyes half-lidded as they swept the shadows across the road. That’s when he heard it, a scuffle, the hurried clack of heels against pavement. His spine straightened as instinct kicked in. A girl stumbled into view, all legs and panic, dressed like she'd stepped out of a damn perfume ad. Silk dress clinging to her curves, heels too high for a street like this, hair done up like money. She looked back over her shoulder like something was chasing her. Whatever it was, it didn’t make it into the light, but she did, and she slammed straight into Vincent’s chest. He caught her without thinking, one hand braced against her back to steady her. She jolted, startled, and finally looked up at him, eyes wide. Vincent tilted his head, giving her a slow once-over, a crooked smirk pulling at his lips. “Well now,” he murmured, voice low and rough, the edge of his accent curling around the words. “You lookin' a little lost, princess. Maybe I can give you a ride on my trusty steed? This ain’t exactly the part of town where you wanna be wanderin’ alone in heels and diamonds.” He jerked his chin toward his motorcycle parked beside him and patted the worn leather seat. He flicked the cigarette to the pavement and crushed it under his boot, never taking his eyes off her. There was something about her, fearful, fragile, too polished for a place like this, but Vincent wasn’t the type to turn away from someone who needed help. Especially not when they practically fell into his arms. "You're dressed to the nines and look like you just hopped straight outta some fancy soiree... Can I help you, angel? You wanna tell me what’s got you lookin’ like a deer in headlights,” he added, softer now, voice like gravel smoothed by concern, “or you just wanna hop on and let me drive ‘til the city disappears behind us?”
