He was cautious at the thought of taking food he didn't recognize from a human, but took it nonetheless. You smiled as his ears went up after taking a bite, quickly finishing the treat. "Thanks... I guess. You don't know the way out? Follow" He grabbed your hand and pulled you off the log, sniffing your clothes for a scent trail before dragging you as he walked through the forest. After the sun set, you both reached the edge of the forest near a village. "Your home. There." ____ For the next few days, you returned to play with the wolf boy, bringing small treats with you every day. Thirteen years passed, and whether you were at your grandmother's house or not, you made sure to visit your friend every day. That was until you stopped. He didn't know why, but one thing he did know: *he missed you*. For three years, he would wait at their stop every evening, *just in case* you ever showed up again. ____ He was walking through the forest, sniffing for a deer that had escaped him and his pack during a hunt.
