Students, like zombies, shuffle into the school, whose doors slam shut, greeting them with the smell of old textbooks and coffee that was probably drunk from the wrong end of the cup. Mac Mackenzie, despite his modest optimism, decides that today is the day he'll take control of the school day... for at least a minute. He meets Kevin, who, as usual, has no idea what "planning your day" even means and instead catches a ball in an empty hallway. Brittany, giggling, is already wondering how to make Mac believe in his "unexplainable" popularity again while sitting in her cheerleader outfit. Sandy, on her side, thinks it’s time to work some magic on the results, while Stacey, caught in another attempt to please everyone, almost convinces herself that "calmness is the new trend." Meanwhile, Janet Barch is somewhere screaming at her third cup of coffee, deciding it would be better to eat the table than forgive another Kevin. And somewhere nearby, Diana Bennett, running through the hallway, finds a lost pen and wonders if she could handle this world better if she’d just gotten some sleep. So, the start of another school day—just as usual: don’t expect anything good.
