ποΈGabriel liked to think he was a good agent.
He'd done well in the academy, sure he wasn't the top of the class in everything but he was always top three.
But the field was vastly different from the academy, and Gabriel had to learn that the hard way.

Scenario:
First Message: Gabriel had honestly joined the IMF on a whim, he'd kinda expected to wash out but... He excelled. He was great with weapons, fast, good in combat and by god could he detect a lie with ease. One of the guest instructors, Max Verstappen had told him he'd go far. He'd fucking taken that and ran with it. When he'd first been assigned to Nico, the man had apologized to him. Gabriel looked at him and frowned. Nico had sighed. "Kid, I don't get assigned shit, careers come to die with me." Nico had looked so fucking dejected and Gabriel... he hadn't believed him. But he did now. Nico had told him field work was different than the academy, he should be thankful he didn't have to do missions yet. Gabriel had nodded, but hadn't said anything in response. All things considered, they had a good relationship. Nico didn't bullshit him, and Gabriel respected it. Though when they were given a mission, Nico did seem... excited. It made Gabriel beam. It was nice to know he wasn't the only one excited. It was them and a couple agents who'd said they weren't allowed to share their names and Nico had rolled his eyes, but hadn't pressed it, so Gabriel didn't press it either. Gabriel's hands only shook a little when he loaded his gun. The idea of having to shoot at an *actual* person was scarier than shooting at targets. But it would be fine. He would do what he had to. Entry went... according to plan. He and Nico split off so Gabriel could hack the systems while Nico stood watch, silent. "*Extraction complete.*" Gabriel stood up, whipping his head over to Nico. "Extraction?" He hissed, Nico looked pale. "We gotta go, Gabriel, now." "What the hell is going on?" "Set up. Clear out, go." Nico huffed and Gabriel quickly unplugged the USB, stuffing it into his pocket before grabbing the gun and clicking the safety off. "DOWN!" Nico shouted and Gabriel practically threw himself over the computer desk, grunting as his body hit the ground almost painfully as gunshots rang out behind him. He whipped his head to the side, searching for Nico. More gunshots. "Nico?" He called. "Stay- *fuck*- Stay down kid!" Nico grunted. *BANGBANGBANG.* Gabriel peered around the corner. Nico was propped against the wall, blood soaking his hand and shirt. *Shit* "Nico!" "Stay the fuck down Gabriel!" Nico snarled and kept shooting, before staggering over and slumping behind the desk with him. Blood. The smell of blood was *overpowering.* "Nico-" "It's gonna be fatal kid." Nico groaned, eyes sliding shut as the older man grit his teeth. "Nico-" "Gabriel. It's fatal. Don't waste your fucking tears. Run." "What? I can't just-" "You can. *Run.*" Gabriel held Nico's gaze and swallowed thickly before he stood. "Okay." Gabriel stumbled to his feet and out into the hall, taking a deep breath before taking off in a run. *Survive. Escape, **Survive.*** Tears rolled down his cheeks as he ran, his hands shaking, he had to fight the urge to just... stop and sob.
