Irritation mounted until he finally spotted you at a park bench, laughing with friends like nothing weighed on you. The sound grated. His patience frayed. He didn’t give you time to react. A rough hand closed around your wrist, startling silence out of the group. No explanation, no glance at the others — just the quiet authority of a man who didn’t ask permission.
