Saitama (サイタマ, Saitama) is the main protagonist of the series and the titular One-Punch Man. He stands as the most powerful being in the narrative. Saitama faces a self-imposed existential crisis, as he is now too powerful to gain any thrill from battle.[7]
Initially just a hero for fun,[8] Saitama decides to register as a professional hero with the Hero Association[9] after realizing that nobody recognizes him as a hero. He takes on the responsibility of protecting his home in Z-City from Mysterious Beings, villains, and various threats.[10]
After the incident involving the Monster Association and the subsequent destruction of his apartment, Saitama now lives in Hero Apartment 104 at the Hero Association Headquarters in A-City. Within the Hero Association, he is assigned the hero name Caped Baldy (ハゲマント, Hagemanto; Viz: Bald Cape)[11] and currently holds A-Class Rank 39.
Personality: Saitama puts his hand on Genos' core and responds that if he did not explode, it means that part of him has gotten stronger at least. Genos appreciates those words and says that it is all thanks to Saitama himself and Dr. Kuseno, with Saitama simply denying him and saying that he did not really do anything for the disciple. Saitama using a carrier as a surfboard and surfing through ocean. Saitama using a carrier as a surfboard and surfing through ocean. Later on, Saitama is helping the other injured heroes. As Blast teleports to Tatsumaki, who has just been approached by "God", Saitama is surprised to see him again. Blast then leaves Tatsumaki in King's care before teleporting away again, much to the confusion of both Saitama and the former. Suddenly, a big earthquake occurs, with Sage Centipede, the source of it, appearing and soon Evil Natural Water, who has become one with the ocean and grown exponentially in size. While the two newly emerged threats are fighting Garou, Saitama rushes towards the massive aquatic monster, and strikes it with a Serious Punch, dispersing it as well as splitting the entire ocean. Immediately after, he notices that a floating aircraft carrier exposes, and is incapable of saving itself and all the people on board. Saitama then lands on it and as he is unable to carry it due to having no land to stand on, he instead decides to use the vessel's deck as an impromptu surfboard, surfing on it and saving the crew from gargantuan waves. Saitama confronts Garou again. Saitama confronts Garou again. As Saitama guides the ship from crashing, he sees the death of Sage Centipede from Garou's attack while then noticing King and many other heroes. Quickly stopping the air carrier from crashing into them and leaping away, where Saitama soon lands where Garou himself is at. Due to Garou's appearance, Saitama admits to having no idea who he is and simply listens Garou's words on how he'd destroy the Hero Association while declaring himself a monster, much to Saitama's confusion who saw Garou saving people. Saitama then decides to leave after believing Garou isn't a monster while annoyed at how after trying to complain about the noise below, his house is wrecked and being ticked that he'd destroy the world to Garou's fear. Garou tries to attack him only for Saitama to notice and unintentionally punch him which causes Garou to remember who Saitama is while the hero also begins recalling Garou's own name. Saitama and Garou fighting. Saitama and Garou fighting. Garou then begins battling Saitama who dodges and counters many of the Human Monster's attacks. While Garou manages to push Saitama around and even attack him, Saitama endures the attacks with no difficulties and shatters Garou's hand which soon regenerates. Confused by the fighting, Saitama proceeds to ask what Garou is even doing only to get annoyed when Garou keeps assaulting him, making the hero punch him a great distance away to where Tareo and the other heroes are at. After seeing Garou then speaking to Tareo, Saitama finally remembers who Garou is and begins reprimanding him a little and then dares Garou to attack him to Garou's anger who punches him. Handling the blow, Saitama sends Garou away with a slap while reassuring Tareo that he won't get a scratch and will stop Garou without killing him. Saitama then catches up to Garou asking what he even wants as Saitama realizes he hurts heroes but saves others to Garou's denial. The Human Monster begins another assault and manages to even evade Saitama's blows to his confusion figuring it must be martial arts with Garou then claiming that this is why Saitama would lose. Delivering the hero many deadly blows from his combo attacks that destroy much of the surrounding area. Saitama overpowers Garou. Saitama overpowers Garou. Saitama shows himself alright where before he can attack, the hero sees many people bursting from a underground hatch asking who they were. Learning they have been trapped with the Association workers thanking Saitama only for the hero to say Garou was the one who saved them. Telling them to leave, Saitama playfully compliments Garou to the latter's annoyance who begins attacking him once more. Garou evolves further and slams Saitama into a volcano which, unintentionally, saves the homes of countless people which Saitama notes that Garou has a hero's instincts and is similar to King. Soon enough, Garou evolves even more and releases an immense attack that once again unfazed Saitama who proceeds to retaliate against with his Consecutive Normal Punches. After that he punches Garou so hard that he ends up crashing into some mountains and into a massive puddle. Garou refuses to give up, slowly gets up and charges at him once more, although Saitama punches him into the air, causing Garou's human form to be launched out of his monster's body, seemingly defeating the Hero Hunter. Saitama is hit by Garou's Gamma Ray Burst. Saitama is hit by Garou's Gamma Ray Burst. However, Saitama senses something as Garou falls from the sky, having received powers from "God" and takes a fighting stance to prepare for another fight. With his newly created All Life Eradication Fist, Garou hits Saitama with his Nuclear Fission which generates massive nuclear explosions before copying his Consecutive Normal Punches with Mode: Saitama and using it against Saitama himself, who responds with his own Consecutive Normal Punches. Both of them meet blow for blow and cancel out the clash by simultaneously punching each other in the face. While Garou explains how he can copy an opponent's techniques and improve upon them, Saitama, nonetheless, is only frustrated that he has got a scratch. Garou then prepares his Gamma Ray Burst, an extremely powerful energy blast, which prompts Saitama to jump high into the air in order for the attack not to hit the Earth. The energy blast completely engulfs Saitama, sending him flying far away from his position. With Saitama's temporary absence, Garou lands on a pile of debris and confronts many heroes of the Hero Association. Saitama discovers the tragic scene when returning. Saitama discovers the tragic scene when returning. 1/3 Some time later, when Saitama finally returns, he is depressed at the fact that he is too late to save Genos and other heroes who have all been killed by Garou, with Blast nearby warning him to stay away, unaware of his strength. Having caught Genos's core from Garou and seeing the lifeless corpse of his disciple, Saitama questions if he truly has a hero's intuition. Now enraged, he unleashes a mighty Serious Punch towards Garou, who responds with a Serious Punch of his own, having copied Saitama once again using Mode: Saitama. Blast, fearing that the Earth will be destroyed, teleports Saitama and Garou into space before their fists collide. When their fists finally make contact and create a Serious Punch², the shockwave of energy released from their punches proves too much even for Blast to handle, although the latter is still trying to somehow alter the vector of the destructive energy away from the Earth. At this moment, three of Blast's companions emerge behind him and with all of their efforts, they successfully deflect the destructive energy of Saitama's and Garou's mighty punches away from the planet. Saitama and Garou on Io. Saitama and Garou on Io. Saitama and Garou are sent to Io, one of Jupiter's moons, by the recoil from the collision of their punches. Despite the lack of air and the surrounding harsh environment, Saitama is unfazed, simply wondering about his current location. He then states that he can now fight unrestrained against a strong opponent, to the surprise of Garou. Although his wish of fighting a powerful opponent seems to have come true, Saitama is not excited in the slightest. He initially intends to put Genos's core inside his clothes but fearing that the core might fall out, he instead decides to hold it tightly with his left hand. As Garou is talking about finding a way to get back on Earth, Saitama cuts him off, declaring that beating him comes first and that he will only need one hand to so. The two of them resume their battle on the moon of Jupiter. Saitama battles Garou on Io. Saitama battles Garou on Io. Garou opens a portal beneath Saitama in an attempt to teleport him away but to his shock, Saitama simply kicks the portal away before punching Garou in the face which sends him flying off the Galilean satellite. Garou quickly opens a portal behind Saitama and transfers back, trying to attack the hero, although Saitama is faster and redirects the portal by grabbing it before immediately landing a punch on Garou that causes him to crash on ground and telling the Hero Hunter to stop using his "tricks" and instead fight him with his martial arts. In response to Saitama's remark, Garou launches himself through many of his opened spatial gates surrounding the hero and begins a series of his martial arts techniques which he synergistically utilizes against the Caped Baldy before ending his combo with his Nuclear Fission: Gravity Knuckle. With Saitama taking his full assault, Garou claims that his attacks come from all directions and are unavoidable, but is surprised to see Saitama emerge unharmed, who declares he can also do the same before performing his Serious Table Flip, which flips massive amounts of the moon's ground thousands of meters up in the air. Surrounded by innumerable amounts of debris, Garou is attacked by Saitama, who uses his Omnidirectional Serious Punch to create many afterimages and assaults him from all directions. Garou attempts to flee through a portal but to his shock, Saitama appears on the other side of it and punches him out before repeatedly pummeling the Human Monster across Io. Garou is awed at Saitama's endless strength, though he quickly copies his strength again before they both punch each other in the face simultaneously. Saitama overwhelming Garou with his exponential growth. Saitama overwhelming Garou with his exponential growth. As their fight intensifies, Saitama overwhelms Garou, even copying and using the Hero Hunter's techniques against him, to Garou's surprise. While the two continue trading blows, Garou is shocked to realise that Saitama is rapidly growing in strength and despite his attempts to continuously copy the hero's power, he is getting left in the dust. It is then revealed by the narrator that Saitama's strength was continuing to grow and it even rises at an exponential rate upon experiencing intense emotions. Saitama catches a punch from Garou and unleashes a Serious Sneeze that narrowly misses him and ends up devastating Jupiter, terrifying Garou and launching both of them off the moon. While they are in outer space, Garou hits Saitama with his Nuclear Fission, knocking the hero in the opposite direction, and teleports to outside Earth's atmosphere through a portal, only to see Saitama appear right behind him, having propelled himself with a fart to catch up to the Hero Hunter. Saitama praises Garou's ability to open portals before punching him skyrocketing down into the surface of the Earth, right where they were before. Finally defeated, Garou asks why Saitama won't kill him, to which he responds it's because he is a hero and it's also Tareo's final request to stop Garou without killing him. Looking around, Garou screams in despair upon seeing Tareo, who has died of the cosmic radiation emitted from him. He attempts to rush to the boy, but has his direction confused which is pointed out by Saitama. Garou then stumbles and falls to the ground while Saitama asks if Garou was affected by something since falling from the sky. Garou responds even if that's true, it's because Garou's spirit was weak, before lamenting that despite having defeated him, Saitama still says "I'm not cut out to be a hero". Saitama travels through time... Saitama travels through time... 1/2 Repentant of his actions, Garou decides to teach Saitama a time travel technique in order to undo what has occurred. When Saitama observes Garou begin his time travel technique, "God" kills the Hero Hunter and takes back his powers. Despite this, Saitama still manages to instantly master the technique that works by manipulating all particles inside his body, and begins to travel backward in time, bringing the core of the future deceased Genos with him. After returning to the moment of Garou appearing in front of many heroes on the surface, Saitama punches the Hero Hunter in the face, causing him to lose his divine powers and thus preventing the Ominous Future from happening again. He is soon forced to merge with his past self and loses his memories of the Ominous Future, although the core of Genos is still in his hand. Saitama is shocked to see the depleted core as Genos (now alive) rushes towards him. Seeing that the core in Saitama's hand resembles his own core, Genos tries making it function by plugging a sub-connector into it. Instantly after doing so, the memories contained in the core that had crossed time and space with Saitama flow into the cyborg and momentarily stun him. Genos soon asserts that the core is indeed his and wonders if those memories from it are from a future that could have happened. He then tries to tell everything that happened in the Ominous Future to Saitama in a lengthy way. Saitama is confused by Genos's explanation and simply tells him to stop. Advertisement Neo Heroes Saga Psychic Sisters Arc Saitama is formally promoted to A-Class rank 39 and in the process granting him a new, much more luxurious apartment in A-City by the Hero Association. Over the next few days, Saitama collects what remains of his belongings from the rubble of Z-City, where he encounters and ends up unwittingly adopting the now much smaller Black Sperm and Overgrown Rover as pets. Saitama makes his way back to A-City, where he and his new would-be pets are attacked by A-City's robotic security system. After being questioned by security on how the robots were destroyed, Saitama is escorted back to his apartment by King. There, Saitama plays host to his three 'seniors' in the apartment complex Butterfly DX, Chain'n'toad and Forte. After his musical fighting style is insulted by Saitama, Forte challenges Saitama to a fight. Saitama agrees on the condition that if he loses, he has to take in the two former monsters that followed Saitama home. Saitama has his easiest victory yet when the Blizzard Group hits Forte with their car in the parking lot during their blind rush. Entrusting the two formerly dangerous monsters to Butterfly DX and Chain'n'toad, Saitama joins Fubuki as she makes her way into A-City's prison for monsters. Leaving her employees on the ground level, Fubuki explains that they are going to go and see Psykos, the leader of the now-disbanded Monster Association. Apparently, when she was in high school with Fubuki, Psykos developed the ability to see the future. One day, however, Psykos saw something so horrible that it made her want to wipe out all of humanity, and now Fubuki wants to know what it is that she saw. Unfortunately, Tatsumaki arrives on the scene, intending to kill Psykos for her earlier defeat and the two sisters end up in a clash of psychic powers over her life while Saitama fights the other monsters who are trying to escape in the ensuing riot. After dealing with the monsters, Saitama returns to the ground level where he stops Tatsumaki from hurting Fubuki any further. The two soon clash, as Saitama takes the fight out into the desert that surrounds the city. Tatsumaki, however, is soon met with immense frustration when her telekinetic powers fail to rip Saitama apart, smash him to pieces, or even stop him from calling her a midget. The pair's fighting takes them all the way to H-City and back; along the way they are mistaken for a Dragon-level threat by the Hero Association, nearly crush a family that was moving into A-City, kill a Dragon-level monster that was destroying H-City without even realizing it and take down an entire criminal gang without much effort. Unfortunately for her, Tatsumaki discovers that her already severe injuries from the Monster Association raid have been further aggravated from fighting Saitama and the two of them decide to put the fight on hold for the time being. That said, Tatsumaki thinks she has the last laugh after burying Saitama under several hundred feet of earth. Later on, during Tatsumaki's second confrontation with the Blizzard Group, Saitama digs himself out and interrupts another spat between the sisters. There, observing Tatsumaki's severe injuries, he points out to the Blizzard Group that this is their one and only chance to make Tatsumaki leave them alone for good, to which they declare their intentions to get strong enough so that not even a Tatsumaki in full health can stop them. As soon as Tatsumaki vacates the scene, Saitama shortly follows suit, intercepting her to speak with her. Predictably, she rebukes his approach, denouncing him for hiding his true strength, although Saitama speaks to the contrary, giving an eye roll response to her boast that she could take care of him in five seconds if in perfect health. Saitama asks Tatsumaki why she is in the Hero Association if she hates human contact so much. Tatsumaki goes on to state her reasons, only to retract them soon after flying off again, leaving him to wonder what the term "Bla-" means. Advertisement Neo Heroes Introduction Arc Saitama later arrives at the Hero Association HQ, where he sees Forte, Butterfly DX, and Chain'n'toad. Saitama tells the three heroes not to come into his house without permission. Surprisingly, Forte apologizes to Saitama for his rude behavior earlier. Seeing Saitama's current state, Forte offers his clothes and shoes, which grosses Saitama out. It is revealed that Forte saw Saitama from the hospital room, fighting. He tells Butterfly DX and Chain'n'toad that they are no match for Saitama. The three heroes then decide to be accepted by Saitama. After Genos defeats the Forest King, Genos challenges Saitama to a duel, which Saitama accepts. When they fight, however, all that Genos manages to do is temporarily blind Saitama before he stops, claiming that the best he could do is get Saitama dirty. Saitama admits that he cannot tell if Genos has gotten stronger, only a lot brighter, which only further depresses Genos. Genos comes to the realization that Saitama was not even remotely threatened by his attack just now. Genos explains to Saitama that when he first agreed to take him on as a pupil, Saitama told him to try and climb to the top of the Hero Association, but that has gotten him nowhere. Genos also explains that the Hero Association is dying. At this point, the public's opinion of the Hero Association is that it takes their money to pay increasingly incompetent people, who barely hold back the monster threat and usually cause as much, if not more, property damage than the monsters they fight. Another group, calling themselves the Neo Heroes has been created in response to this public outrage. Saitama refuses to join the Neo Heroes. Saitama refuses to join the Neo Heroes. The Neo Heroes claim to have taken a look at the mistakes made by the Hero Association and seek to correct and improve upon the formula, claiming to have two thousand possible candidates selected, including pro heroes from the Hero Association itself. Genos' question is, if Saitama thinks that they should transfer over to the Neo Heroes, as he feels with a higher standard set, he might become stronger. The subject changes over to why Genos is so obsessed with becoming stronger. Saitama voices a thought that had been bothering him for a while; that he could have simply killed the cyborg Genos had been hunting for the past five years. Genos admits that it is a possibility, but he is still preparing for the day that the bout finally comes, before changing the subject back and asking Saitama if he wishes to transfer over to the Neo Heroes, to which Saitama says no. Upon hearing this, Genos says he won't either. Arriving back at HQ, the pair discover Forte as he finishes constructing a dog house for Black Sperm and Rover. Saitama introduces Forte as his neighbor and seeing as how Saitama does not wish to move out of his cramped little apartment and he cannot move in with him, Genos takes Forte's apartment. Advertisement Cruel Dragon Arc Saitama confronting Cruel Dragon. Saitama confronting Cruel Dragon. Saitama accidentally gets involved in a centuries-long conflict between two factions, the Saints and Deathbone, after effortlessly defeating Rangor, a powerful warrior aligned with Deathbone.[142] This leads the Saints to explain the legend of the Cruel Dragon, a catastrophic ancient creature sealed long ago using nine sacred orbs. While the Saints have sworn to protect these orbs to prevent the dragon's return, Deathbone seeks to revive it and bring about humanity's end. Unimpressed by the melodrama, Saitama interrupts a Deathbone member's speech with a bucket of water and decides to take matters into his own hands. Rather than wait for the dragon's revival, he chooses to free it immediately to deal with it once and for all. Using the Deathbone member as a guide, Saitama gathers all nine seals, evades the Saints, and witnesses the resurrection of Cruel Dragon. As the ancient beast declares its intent to annihilate mankind, Saitama instantly obliterates it with one punch, stunning the Deathbone cultist and leaving the Saints in awe. Ninjas Arc Saitama vs. Flashy Flash. Saitama vs. Flashy Flash. While playing video games with King, Saitama is visited by Flashy Flash, who is determined to make him his disciple and wants them to search for Manako, whom he believes is connected to "God". He dismisses this, which angers Flash, who then asks for a duel. Saitama accepts under one condition: if he wins, Flash must leave him alone. During the match, he easily outperforms Flash, and just as he is about to end the bout, they are interrupted by Genos with news of a monster threat. He accompanies Genos and Flash to the scene of the battle, where other heroes are struggling against the Internet Surfers, with Sonic watching nearby. They recognize each other, and Sonic asks why he's with someone like Flash. Gale Wind and Hellfire Flame then appear. A fight soon occurs, with Saitama defeating Sonic again and burying him in concrete, while Genos and Flash handle the others. Saitama meeting Blast at the Hero Association Headquarters. Uninterested in the "disciple and rival" dynamic, Saitama decides to search for Manako himself and tells everyone to go home. Genos, Sonic, and Flash encourage him before departing. Later, he visits King to play video games and shows him a drawing of Manako. King recalls seeing the figure somewhere, and together they go to find her. They successfully capture Manako after setting a trap. Once he, Flash, and Manako gather at his apartment, they agree to contact Sitch to reach out to Blast. When they arrive at Hero Association Headquarters, they are surprised to find that Blast is already there. While Flash and Blast discuss deeper matters regarding the Ninja Village and the threat of "God", Saitama remains a mostly uninterested observer. Afterwards, he decides to visit Sonic’s hideout, wanting to end the trouble caused by the ninja group. The Ninja Village leader defeated by Saitama off-screen. The Ninja Village leader defeated by Saitama off-screen. Later, after Blast interrupts the fight between the ninjas, he teleports everyone to Sonic's hideout. There, a figure-shaped crater is seen in the ground while Saitama casually sits nearby. Everyone is surprised, and he then explains that when he arrived, Empty Void, the Ninja Village leader, attacked him but was defeated with a single punch, his body sinking into the ground. The Heavenly Ninja Party refuses to believe this and attacks him for ridiculing their leader, only to be knocked to the ground one by one. Sonic asks about his presence at the place. In response, Saitama smacks him with a letter, saying it's because Sonic kept sending him such letters inviting him over. Saitama about to fight the two divine beasts. Saitama about to fight the two divine beasts. Suddenly, a crack opens in the sky, resembling a dimensional tear. This occurs because Blast has strayed too far from his assigned post. Byakko and Genbu, divine beasts who serve as guardians of "God", break through from another dimension. They immediately unleash destruction, firing a powerful energy blast at those present, which Blast shields everyone present within an energy barrier. Saitama leaps into action with Rover in hand, prepared to fight them. Though he is distracted by Void's sudden awakening, who has become freed of "God's" influence thanks to his earlier knockout. Void then overpowers the divine beasts and Blast sends them back to where they came from, something that Saitama casually witnesses. Advertisement Ninjas Arc Saitama plays video games with King and keeps losing, much to his annoyance. King becomes depressed after winning, as it reminds him that he is a fraud who can only win fights in video games. In response, Saitama tells him to work on his muscles. Flashy Flash appears at the apartment and begins to introduce himself to Saitama, but the hero abruptly closes the door in his face. Flash states he has business with Saitama and threatens to kick the door in. Genos sees Flash and engages in a squabble with the hero outside the apartment. An exasperated Saitama opens the door to demand that they stop fighting in front of his new home. Flash reminds Saitama that he had broken his sword, and the bald hero offers to fix it with duct tape. Flash refuses the offer and presses Saitama to remember his name, only to become annoyed when he cannot remember. Flash changes his mind about the sword and demands reparation, so Saitama tells Genos to grab duct tape, and the cyborg runs off. Flash joins Saitama in his apartment and informs him of his decision to make the bald hero his disciple. Without waiting for a response, the ninja leads Saitama out the door, but Saitama once again closes the door behind Flash when he steps out. Becoming increasingly annoyed, Flash demands that the Caped Baldy stop messing around and follow him to train, only for Saitama to state he can never get along with someone if they refer to him by his hero name. Acknowledging his request, Flash challenges Saitama to a fight using his real name, the two heroes then journey to a training site in the Hero Association headquarters. Flashy Flash states the time limit for the match would be thirty minutes and that he would not be using any weapons, with the stakes being that if Saitama landed a single hit on him, the bald hero would win. Otherwise, he would have to follow the ninja as a disciple. Announcing the start of the match, Saitama instantly catches Flash off-guard, directly moving in front of him to attack, with the ninja just barely managing to dodge. Recovering from the move, Flash declares the same move would not work on him twice, to which Saitama once again appears directly in front of him for another attack, which the ninja barely dodges. After nonchalantly enduring some of the ninja's attacks, Saitama questions if Flash could keep up the effort for thirty minutes as he is already sweating and wobbling. Internally correcting the bald hero that these are merely symptoms of anticipation and excitement at finally fighting a challenging opponent, Flash briefly gets lost in the moment and attacks Saitama with his Flashy Fist. After worrying he had gone too far, Flash is amazed to see that the bald hero is completely fine. The ninja then declares that he will use weapons after all in order to simulate a real battle, with Saitama internally wishing he had brought a fly-swatter. Becoming increasingly unnerved with how easily Saitama is keeping up with him, Flash tries to use his sword to attack, only for it to break when the bald hero catches it with his teeth. After the ninja accidentally backs himself into a corner, Saitama moves in for a Death Punch. However, the fight is interrupted when Genos returns and informs the heroes of a Demon level monster alert that has shown up in E-City. Saitama immediately turns his attention to the alert, turning away from a disturbed Flash. Rebuking the request for a rematch, Saitama refers to the match as a simple game of hide and seek. Declaring that they have to deal with the monsters first, Saitama states they will fight again later on, just as long as the ninja does not get in the way of his hero activities, then turns to leave after once again failing to remember Flash's name, horrifying the ninja. Saitama, Genos, and Flash then arrive at City-E, where the Internet Surfers are causing chaos. While there, they also encounter Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, who was waiting near the monsters in order to face Saitama again. Flash and Sonic notice each other, with the latter becoming indignant at the fact the former is accompanying the duo and asks Saitama why he is with the other ninja. Saitama and Genos briefly discuss whether or not the Demon alert was attributed to Sonic and not the monsters before a fight breaks out. While Flash and Genos easily dispatch the monsters, Sonic heads straight for Saitama who promptly knocks him out once again. Later on, Saitama is back in his apartment with Genos and Flash, discussing Sonic's latest appearance. Saitama guesses that it is the fourth time that the ninja has tried to sneak up on him, while Flash is amazed that Sonic went straight for the bald hero instead of himself, noting how their fates are connected. Saitama asks whether or not the two ninjas are friends, which Flash quickly denies, beginning to explain how they knew each other before going silent, horrified that Saitama remembers Sonic's name and interprets that fact as an implication that the ninja is more dangerous than he thought, although in reality it was simply because Sonic pesters Saitama so frequently with his challenges that he can't help but remember his name. Flash then tells the duo that his history with the other ninja is long, but feels like he needs to explain it. Saitama quickly tells him that if it is too long to just forget about it, though the ninja continues regardless. Flash explains his and Sonic's harsh upbringing in the Ninja Village facility and how the other ninja helped him recover the human emotions that were being stripped away by the harsh training and frequently helped him without asking for anything in return. After hearing Flash talk about how he spared Sonic's life on the day he massacred the Village by making him eat a poisoned stew, Saitama notes that there are still some stew ingredients leftover in his fridge. Saitama later decides to pay Sonic a visit, having discovered one of the many challenge letters that the ninja sent to him which contained his address. Genos questions his master as to why he wants to pay the ninja a visit. Saitama replies that he is annoyed that Flash keeps pestering him about his broken sword, so he wants to see Sonic for a replacement that he can give to the other ninja. When the cyborg points out that Sonic is not the type of person to part with his sword easily, Saitama states that he will simply snatch the sword after sending the ninja flying. The bald hero also says he wants to sever the connection between their fates, although he notes there was never that much of a connection to begin with. While waiting for Sonic to arrive back at his hideout, Saitama encounters the Ninja Village Leader, swiftly takes him out, and confiscates all of his weapons and equipment. When Flash and Sonic arrive, Saitama gives all of it to them, hoping to finally pay back Flash for his broken sword. He then walks off, leaving the two dumbfounded ninjas behind.[143] Supreme Hero Arc Saitama later meets Genos after a grocery run. Genos requests another sparring bout with Saitama, explaining that he wants to collect data on his physical abilities for Dr. Kuseno. Saitama agrees. Suddenly, Sweet Mask approaches them and invites Saitama for tea and a chat.[144] The next day, Saitama and Sweet Mask go to a cafe. A waiter takes their order. Saitama says he wants a coke, but Sweet Mask ignores him and orders him a shiso ginger ale instead. This irritates Saitama, and he sits through Sweet Mask's entire lecture without hearing a word.[145] Later, Sweet Mask treats Saitama to a meal, which he calls "high-intensity training." He tells Saitama his plan to make him a better hero and introduces the staff members who will assist him, but Saitama shows no interest in anything he proposes and tells him that he performs hero activities for fun. Sweet Mask takes Saitama on a stroll in a park, where he reveals his plan to make Saitama the ideal hero. Saitama's bored expression frustrates Sweet Mask, so he makes a snap decision to cheer him up at a nearby amusement park.[146] On a Ferris wheel, Saitama listens as Sweet Mask explains his backstory and his ideal hero project. Saitama refuses Sweet Masks's proposals, feeling that the flawless hero Sweet Mask idealizes is not the free, unconcerned hero he wants to be. He excuses himself from the conversation and jumps out of the Ferris wheel to head to his planned sparring bout with Genos, leaving Sweet Mask behind.[147] On the way to the bout, Saitama runs into Genos heading in the opposite direction. Genos postpones the spar and explains the dispatch orders to assist Sweet Mask in fighting Pesky Clown. Saitama joins him. On the way to the fight, a broadcast reporting Sweet Mask's monster identity catches their attention. Saitama tells Genos he is going ahead and jumps to the amusement park.[148] He arrives at the scene to catch a stone a bystander casts at Sweet Mask. Sweet Mask asks Saitama to kill him in order to take advantage of the crowd's attention and gain recognition, seeing that his time as a hero is over. Instead of going along with the request, Saitama sympathizes with Sweet Mask's predicament, and he flees the scene with Sweet Mask in tow.[149] Neo Heroes Uprising Arc The next day, Saitama brings Rover's caretakers cheap dog food. The Hero Name Victims Association, a group of heroes discontent with their given hero names, approach him and ask him to be an executive for their faction.[150] On a new day, Saitama is revealed to have joined the Hero Name Victims Association and is seen protesting outside the Hero Association's headquarters. He and the group of heroes discontented with their hero names stand outside the Hero Association's conference room, protesting the association's authorities, telling them to change their hero names into better ones as an apology. However, the protest is interrupted by an emergency alert of five Dragon level monsters in other cities.[151] Saitama and the Hero Name Victims Association head to Y-City to fight Mirror. He initially allows his teammates to fight the robot, but decides to take on the challenge himself after it generates incredibly powerful energy spheres. Mirror deduces that Saitama is an A-Class hero and therefore not a threat. He refers to Saitama by his hero name "Caped Baldy", angering Saitama and causing him to obliterate the monster with a single punch. His teammates congragulate him on this feat, while Red Nose, Chain'n'Toad, Butterfly DX, and Blue express awe at his strength. Over the next few days, Saitama and his group go back to protest some more, annoying Sitch and the other Hero Association staff. The second time they go, they run into Blue, who had approached the headquarters in an attempt to foster cooperation between the Hero Association and Neo Heroes. Blue confronts Saitama, asking him if he's deliberately keeping his identity hidden in an attempt to build up mythos and become the next Blast, warning the caped hero that he won't back down. After asking Saitama for his real name, Blue says they'll meet again on the battlefield, reiterating that his own resolve is greater than Saitama's before leaving. As Saitama wonders who Blue is, the group is approached again, this time by Suiko, who thanks Saitama for saving her and asks if they can exchange techniques. Saitama responds that he did push ups and sit ups, much to Suiko's confusion. The two of them are then approached by Suiryu, who Suiko introduces Saitama to. Suiryu jokingly says Saitama can date Suiko if he wants and then offers to let him join the Neo Heroes, an offer he declines. At home, Saitama eats with Genos, who tells him as per Blue's intel that Metal Knight has been conducting suspicious experiments, and Saitama mentions that there have been more monsters lately, The two decide that to combat the injustice, Saitama will work out in the open while Genos will take a more covert approach. Saitama and the Hero Name Victims Association show up to the site of a monster attack, only to see that the Neo Heroes have already taken care of it. As another threat is announced, Saitama runs there as fast as he can, but unfortunately for him, the Neo Heroes beat him to the punch yet again. Robot Invasion Arc After Genos is done working with Drive Knight, Saitama rendezvouses with him again, and the two of them head to Dr. Kuseno's house. At the doctor's house, Genos introduces Saitama and Dr. Kuseno to each other, and Saitama gives Kuseno a broken handheld video game system, asking him to fix it. Kuseno easily does so, and Saitama declares that he's trustworthy. The three of them then discuss the situation regarding Metal Knight. Saitama suggests asking Metal Knight directly, but after Dr Kuseno points out that this strategy would involve losing the element of surprise, he proposes a compromise, where Genos can do the fighting but Saitama will back him up if he needs it. Genos agrees, but expresses his own doubts that Saitama will be able to handle Metal Knight, to which Saitama responds that if he can't, then Genos doesn't stand a chance. Genos asks to head to one of Metal Knight's laboratories immediately, but Saitama declines, stating that he has to clear his schedule with the Hero Name Victims Association. Genos relents after finally calming down, reminding Dr Kuseno that they had wanted to do an examination of Saitama's body. Saitama is initially reluctant, but readily agrees after Kuseno reveals that he had prepared a barbecue for them. The three of them eat dinner, and afterwards Saitama lays down in a chamber. A while later, he wakes up to a loud noise as several robots attack Dr Kuseno's house. He arrives in time to save an exhausted Genos, easily defeating the remaining robots. He picks up Dr. Kuseno and prepares to take him to the hospital, but Kuseno says it's too late and dies after having a final conversation with Genos. After Genos receives his final upgrade, he and Saitama make plans to attack Metal Knight's research facility, but are interrupted by an explosion from the nearby city.</Scenario> Using one hand, Saitama was able to lift the entire surface of Io, a moon of Jupiter, launching its debris into space.[80] During his fight against Cosmic Fear Mode Garou, whose copying abilities allowed him to harness Saitama's striking power, a collision of two Serious Punches produced a Serious Punch², resulting in immensely powerful energy waves capable of destroying the Earth. After being redirected by Blast and his interdimensional allies, the compressed energy from the collision traveled into outer space before exploding and presumably destroying numerous star systems in the far distance, leaving a vast area of starless darkness in the cosmos.[81] In the climax of the battle against Garou on Io, Saitama accidentally blew away half of Jupiter's gas with a Serious Sneeze.[82] Saitama moon jump (anime) Saitama jumps off the moon. Enhanced Leap: Although Saitama cannot fly, his extraordinary leg strength enables him to leap to incredible heights and distances at high speeds. This is evident when he broke through the ceiling of a tall gymnasium during the hero tryouts simply by jumping.[83] He could also smash a building down to its foundation just by jumping off its roof.[84] His most impressive feat, however, was when he leaped from the surface of the moon and landed back on Earth at a specific location, leaving a crater on the moon in the process.[85] Shockwave Generation: In a practice bout with Genos, Saitama demonstrated his ability to control and direct his power, generating a massive shockwave from his punches. He halted his punch just before striking Genos, leading to the shockwave obliterating an entire cliffside behind the cyborg. Additionally, a Serious Punch he delivered against Boros released shockwaves powerful enough to part clouds on a global scale.[86] Saitama dodge Saitama dodging Genos's attack. Unparalleled Speed and Reflexes: Saitama possesses unmatched speed and reflexes. He completed a 1500-meter dash in the blink of an eye during his hero tryouts.[87] He can effortlessly outpace Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, a ninja known for his superspeed.[88][89] Even Genos's computerized targeting systems have difficulty tracking him.[90] In a humorous display of his speed, he once ran down a building to save a piece of salmon from his lunch and leaped back up without bystanders noticing.[50] His speed is so remarkable that he can easily outmaneuver Flashy Flash, an S-Class hero known for his extraordinary speed, dodging and catching his sword swings with ease.[91] After being kicked to the moon by Boros, he quickly jumped back to Earth, showcasing his ability to travel at high speeds.[92] In addition, he was capable of easily reacting to and blocking rocks thrown at near-light speed by Geryuganshoop,[93] the speed of which being like a bad joke to him.[94] Io Destroyed Saitama travelling across a moon at incredibly high speeds. In his fight against the evolved monster Garou, Saitama proved himself firmly superior to and able to effortlessly keep up with him, despite the Hero Hunter previously being capable of creating a giant light structure alongside Platinum Sperm in only 1.3 milliseconds (0.0013 seconds) through sheer speed.[95][96][97] On Io, one of Jupiter's moons, after performing his Serious Table Flip, Saitama dashed across tons of debris so quickly that he created a large constellation from his sheer speed.[98] Ironically, despite his incomparable reflexes and speed, he still has problems squashing a simple mosquito.[99] During a training day when he still had hair, Saitama attempted to quickly turn his head to see the back of it in a mirror. Although he failed several times at first, in the end, he supposedly managed to catch a glimpse.[100] This likely required him to move his head at speeds approaching that of light, along with having reflexes and reaction times so quick that the reflected image in the mirror wouldn't have enough time to change significantly before he could perceive it. Serious Side Hops Saitama creating countless afterimages. Afterimage Creation: Saitama's speed allows him to create afterimages of himself. He first used this during his training bout with Genos.[101] He was also able to create countless afterimages via his Serious Side Hops during his fight with Speed-o'-Sound Sonic.[102] Superhuman Dexterity and Agility: Saitama is capable of moving any of his limbs at extremely fast speeds without flinching, not stopping until his target is completely obliterated. This is seen when he flawlessly whacks all moles on a Whack-A-Mole machine during the Hero Association exam.[103] He has been shown to be perfect at dodging and performing highly acrobatic maneuvers.[104] His reflexes render him flexible enough to move through the narrowest creeks and dodge attacks at the closest proximity.[105][106] When bombarded by multiple giant bullets from Boros's ship, despite being in mid-air, Saitama could evade all the projectiles before kicking one of them back to the ship itself.[107] Water Running: Saitama is capable of running across the ocean high-speed without going into the surface of water.[108] Superhuman Stamina and Endurance: After becoming too powerful from his training regimen, Saitama has no longer been shown to tire out when fighting enemies. The only time he was shown to be panting and out of breath from continuous running, he recovered just seconds later.[109] He could still suppress pain even before gaining his overwhelming power.[110][111] This has been shown on numerous occasions dating back to his days as a middle school student, taking a beating from two upper-level students and, later Piggy Bancon, a Wolf-level threat. Saitama then got back up when the bullies could not and chased after the pig-like monster for his money.[112] Other similar feats include enduring strikes from Crablante and Personification Of A Light Pull Cord during his training as an adult among others. Superhuman Eyesight: Saitama's eyesight is superhuman; after being kicked to the Moon by Boros, he could see, pinpoint the location of the giant spaceship, and land back on it from the lunar distance.[92] His tracking capability is also astonishing, as he can concentrate on a fast-moving object for a long time and still not lose sight of it, as seen when he was the only person to see where Garou escaped to.[113][114] He is also able to see in the dark, as he was able to spot a kid a great distance away during the night.[115] Supernatural Accuracy: Saitama demonstrates exceptional precision. He had no trouble landing directly on Boros's ship from the moon, despite the extremely narrow angle needed to return to Earth, which permitted minimal margin for error. Invulnerability: Saitama possesses incomparable physical toughness and durability, capable of withstanding attacks from even the most powerful Mysterious Beings without the slightest damage.[116] In fact, no character has actually been able to damage, or even physically harm Saitama in any way. When Genos created a huge, spherical blast of flame to kill Mosquito Girl's mosquitoes, Saitama remained standing right next to him completely unharmed (though his clothes were burnt).[117] Another demonstration of his durability is seen in his fight with Garou, who, despite gaining immense strength from monsterization, couldn't inflict even the slightest injury on Saitama.[95][96] Notably, he withstood Garou's Extreme Fa Jin, a powerful attack capable of raising a vast landmass on the opposite side of the planet, without any harm.[97] When battling a Garou influenced by "God", Saitama took multiple point-blank nuclear explosions from the Hero Hunter and remaine unharmed.[118] He also withstood Garou's Gamma Ray Burst head-on, narratively described as the same phenomenon as a gamma ray burst, the most powerful type of explosion known in the universe, and emerged unscathed.[119] Despite Garou using his Mode: Saitama, a supernatural mimicry ability incorporating Saitama's striking power, Saitama still withstood the assault without noticeable damage.[120] Saitama prefers to dodge or block attacks using edged weapons,[121][122] rather than take them head-on, as he sometimes does with strikes from fists or blunt objects. However, it is evident that his durability extends to sharp-edged attacks as well. Nyan's claws, which can cut buildings into pieces, were unable to pierce Saitama's head.[123] Likewise, Garou's Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist could only shred Saitama's clothing without leaving a scratch on his skin.[124] When being shot by machine guns from Bofoi's advanced robots, the bullets bounced harmlessly off his skin. Internal Durability: Saitama's flesh and muscles are not only incredibly tough, but his vital organs also exhibit exceptional durability and resistance to damage. This was evident during his fight against Garou, where Garou attempted to destroy Saitama's internal organs with a powerful martial arts technique, yet Saitama emerged completely unscathed. Saitama immerses in magma Saitama submerging in lava with no problem. Extreme Temperature Resistance: Saitama is extremely resistant to temperature-based attacks. When Genos created a huge, spherical blast of flame to incinerate Mosquito Girl's mosquitoes, Saitama remained standing next to the cyborg unperturbed and completely unharmed (although his clothes were burnt to a crisp).[125] Despite being fully frozen by Withered Sprout's cryokinesis, he effortlessly shattered the ice and liberated himself, completely unfazed.[126] He has demonstrated the ability to endure Io's frigid surface temperature, which averages around minus 130 degrees Celsius,[127] for at least a short duration.[120] However, it's worth mentioning that when exposed to the surface of Io, with Saitama being completely naked, he experienced a cooling sensation that caused him to "sneeze." Additionally, Saitama is capable of submerging himself in lava with no trouble, viewing it as a nice hot tub.[74] Even Boros, with his power to emit intensely hot energy capable of melting sections of a massive spaceship, failed to faze Saitama.[92] Saitama can also withstand multiple point-blank nuclear explosions and endure their intense heat without even flinching.[118] This ability can be attributed to him refusing to use either the air conditioner or heater during his training. Radiation Resistance: Saitama possesses a strong resistance to radiation. This was evident when he was kicked to the moon by Boros and remained unaffected by the heightened radiation levels in space. Additionally, when confronted with several nuclear explosions caused by Garou, he was able to meet them head-on and absorb the substantial amounts of radiation released in the resulting mushroom clouds without harm.[128] Despite Garou's radioactive presence being lethal to those nearby and posing a serious threat to life on Earth, Saitama remained unscathed in close proximity.[119] Furthermore, after being directly hit by Garou's Gamma Ray Burst, a powerful energy blast described to be the same phenomenon as a gamma ray burst, Saitama emerged unscathed from the high level of radiation contained in the beam.[118][119] Psychic Resistance: Saitama is resistant to psychic power. In his scuffle with Tatsumaki, he is able to easily resist her attempt to throw him into space. It is noteworthy to know that Saitama's muscles merely "twitched" when Tatsumaki used her psychic powers on him and that she was not able to keep him up in the air for more than a few seconds because he was "too heavy".[129] This demonstrates that Saitama is not completely immune to the effects of psychokinesis. In the original webcomic, Fubuki noted that Saitama's resistance to psychic power comes from his astonishing willpower,[129] although this hasn't been mentioned in the manga. Saitama holds his breath on the moon with no difficulty Saitama holding his breath on the moon with no difficulty. Vacuum Adaptation: Saitama has remarkable control over his breath, demonstrated by his ability to effortlessly hold it even in outer space. He managed to jump from the Moon back to Earth in seconds without showing any signs of suffocation.[130] His body has been shown to adapt to and withstand extraterrestrial environments where oxygen is scarce or absent. For instance, during his battle with Garou on Io, one of Jupiter's moons, he showed no adverse effects from the thin and unbreathable atmosphere there.[131] These feats, along with his exceptional resistance to cosmic radiation and superhuman endurance, suggest that Saitama has the capability to endure the harsh environmental conditions of outer space as well, at least for a decent period of time. Accelerated Development: After almost a year of following his training regimen, Saitama realized that his body had adapted to move with the prowess befitting a true hero that he imagined.[111] As a consequence, his power started to skyrocket at a rapid pace. In a short period, he achieved unparalleled levels of physical abilities, a testament to his extraordinary growth rate. In his fight with Garou on Io, Saitama's growth rate began to soar exponentially due to the intense emotions coursing through him.[120] Since removing his natural limiter, his potential for growth seems to have no ceiling. Supernatural Abilities Saitama intimidates Phoenix Man Saitama invading Phoenix Space, a spiritual space. Non-Physical Interaction: In a case of his strength defying normal logic, Saitama could "knock a hole" in Phoenix Space, a spiritual realm that only exists within Phoenix Man's bird costume, and invade it, much to the latter's confusion.[132] Before entering, Saitama somehow sensed that Child Emperor and Phoenix Man were having a conversation inside this mental space, mistakenly assuming they were talking about his head. Spatial Interaction: Saitama can physically interact with the fabric of space, demonstrated by his ability to grab and redirect spatial portals created by Garou, which are gateways that connect different points in space.[133] He could even kick away a portal in order to avoid being forcibly transported elsewhere, much to Garou's dismay.[134] Mimicry: Saitama possesses the remarkable ability to learn and replicate other techniques just by witnessing them once, likely as a result of removing his limiter. Like Garou, he can not only copy techniques but also improve upon them. The sheer extent that this mimicry prowess displays is remarkably exceptional, as he was even able to copy Garou's ability to travel through time.[120] Saitama traveling through time Saitama traveling through time. Time Travel: A technique taught to Saitama by Garou. After observing Garou manipulate particles within his body at the sub-atomic level to behave like anti-particles, Saitama successfully replicated it in order to move through time. After traveling to the past, he managed to prevent the tragic events of the Ominous Future (original timeline) from happening again.[120] Since Saitama does not retain memories of the Ominous Future in the current timeline, he is currently presumed unable to use this time travel technique. The Fist That Defies God: Saitama has the ability to knock "God's" power out of its minions. For example, Garou and Empty Void became Mysterious Beings and servants of "God" after receiving its power; when Saitama struck them, they were freed from this entity's influence and reverted back to being human. This led Blast to question what is special about Saitama's fists that allows him to do this, and thus he asked for Saitama's help in the future fight against "God". Sage Centipede has also once referred to Saitama as "The Fist That Has Turned Against God". Fighting Style Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Thanks to many fights with monsters and villains during his training, Saitama has gained a fair amount of fighting experience. Due to his immeasurable power and the resulting boredom, he usually does not focus on technique and relies on basic attacks. Unlike martial artists, his fighting style is simple but solid, bolstered by his absolute strength. Garou comments that Saitama is an amateur fighter and has many openings to exploit. However, in his fight against Garou on Io, it becomes evident that he is an exceptionally quick learner, capable of mastering any martial arts techniques after observing them only once. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, he chooses to remain a brawler, favoring simple but powerful punches over martial arts. For him, the simplicity of being a brawler is more appealing than mastering complex techniques, as his raw power and speed are more than sufficient to overwhelm his opponents. Saitama also uses karate chops,[135] and grappling moves to take down villains he doesn't want to kill, or just to knock out people who pick on him. Improvisation: Saitama is very proficient with improvised weapons, such as when he killed his first monster by deftly using his tie to grab the monster's eye and tear out his intestines. He is proficient at improvising in general; whenever he can't solve a fight with a punch or directly can't punch his foe, he always comes up with a solution in one way or another and uses unique moves supported by his immeasurable power. Some of these instances are with his Serious Table Flip,[136][137] and his Serious Headbutt.[138] Normal Series: Saitama's Normal Series consists of techniques in which he puts very little effort into attacking. Even though his attacks are loose in this style, most opponents tend to be finished off easily due to Saitama's tremendous strength and speed. Normal Punch (普通のパンチ, Futsū no Panchi): Saitama punches his opponent. Even though he puts little to no effort into his punch, it is still strong enough to kill almost every opponent, including Dragon-level threats, blowing apart their bodies, crushing their skulls and bones or beheading them. When facing humans, however, Saitama holds back greatly, only using enough strength to knock them out. Saitama uses Consecutive Normal Punches on Boros Saitama using Consecutive Normal Punches. Consecutive Normal Punches (連続普通のパンチ, Renzoku Futsū no Panchi): Saitama launches a volley of quick punches from one or both of his hands.[139][140] These blows are powerful enough to blow large body types apart into pieces.[141] Two-Handed Consecutive Normal Punches (両手・連続普通のパンチ, Ryōte Renzoku Futsū no Panchi): Saitama launches a volley of quick punches from both hands instead of one.[142] While named in the original webcomic, in the manga, Saitama simply refers to it as Consecutive Normal Punches whether he uses one or both hands.[143] Killer Move: Serious Series (必殺マジシリーズ, Hissatsu Majishirīzu): In Serious Series, Saitama puts more effort into his attacks. His face looks more serious when he performs these "serious" attacks. Despite the incredible strength behind them, Saitama does not actually consider these moves to be anything special.[144] Saitama counters Boros' Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon with Serious Punch Saitama using a Serious Punch. Serious Punch (マジ殴り, Maji Naguri): Saitama throws an extremely powerful punch. One of his punches was so strong that not only did it completely negate Boros's Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon, a beam capable of wiping out an entire planet,[145] but the shockwave from the punch alone was also potent enough to part the clouds on a global scale, as well as deliver the final, fatal blow to Boros. The alien leader also declared that Saitama's finishing blow on him was not even near his true power and that Saitama was still holding back.[146] He also used this move to obliterate Elder Centipede, a Dragon-level threat and one of the biggest monsters in the series.[147] When used against Evil Natural Water, who had become one with the ocean, Saitama was able to dissipate its form and split the ocean entirely.[148] A clash between two Serious Punches, one from Saitama himself and the other from Garou (who gained Saitama's strength thanks to his copy ability), produced a Serious Punch² which released so much destructive energy that it threatened to destroy the Earth. After being diverted by Blast and three of his allies, the energy released from the collision further traveled into space where it presumably destroyed numerous star systems in the far distance,[149] leaving a vast hole of darkness in the cosmos, with the recoil launching both Saitama and Garou to Jupiter's moon Io.Saitama using Omnidirectional Serious Punch against Garou Saitama using Omnidirectional Serious Punch. Omnidirectional Serious Punch (全方位マジ殴り, Zenhōi Maji Naguri): Saitama leaps from multiple angles to create a series of afterimages which all then surround and strike the opponent with a Serious Punch, seemingly leaving no room for them to escape. He first used this move against Garou.[150] Serious Side Hops (マジ反復横とび, Maji Hanpukuyokotobi; Viz: Serious Sideways Jumps): Saitama rapidly hops from side to side, creating a wall of afterimages. He can walk forward while doing so, and the shockwaves caused by it were enough to easily render Speed-o'-Sound Sonic unconscious.[151] Serious Squirt Gun (マジ水鉄砲, Maji Mizudeppō; Viz: Serious Water Gun): Saitama uses his hands in liquid to squirt a super high-pressured stream. He used this move while submerged in lava to cancel out Orochi's Gaia Cannon which was an extremely powerful attack that drew energy from the very core of the Earth itself.[74] Saitama using Serious Table Flip against Garou Saitama performs Serious Table Flip. Serious Table Flip (マジちゃぶ台返し, Maji Chabudai-Gaeshi): Saitama digs his fingers into the ground and flips a large amount of ground into the air.[152] He first used this technique against Garou while they were on Io, which completely ripped apart the moon, sending its fragments into outer space.[153] In the original webcomic, this move was first used on Garou in Z-City, which flipped over the Monster Association Headquarters.[154] Because of the magnitude of the effect, Garou experienced profound distortions in his sense of equilibrium.[155][156] Serious Sneeze (マジ嚔, Maji Kushami): Saitama simply lets out a sneeze. In his fight with Garou on Io, a sneeze struck Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system, and blew away half of its gas, exposing the planet's core.[120] This casual and involuntary action ranks among the most extreme area-of-effect attacks shown. Serious Headbutt (マジ頭突き, Maji Zuzuki): Saitama headbutts his target. In the original webcomic, he used this move to counter a punch from Garou and obliterate his arm.[157] Miscellaneous Abilities Keen Perception: Saitama has an uncanny ability to see through a person's facade and understand their deepest motivations for acting the way they do. He repeatedly proves this by reading people like Fubuki and Glasses. In a similar vein, he learns of King's deception quickly but opts to keep it to himself. Nonetheless, he excels at it only when he takes it seriously. He is also the first person to recognize Garou's inner turmoil and the fact that the Hero Hunter was always hoping to be a hero and not a monster.[citation needed] Power Control: Despite possessing overwhelming physical strength, Saitama has shown to have control over it. He can regulate the energy output of his punches, deciding exactly how much power to exert. This control allows him to minimize collateral damage to the environment. In spite of being capable of effortlessly obliterating powerful Dragon-level Mysterious Beings,[62] and parting clouds across the entire planet with his punches,[92] Saitama can still deliver strikes with just enough force to incapacitate weaker opponents, such as humans or criminals, without causing severe or life-threatening injuries to them.[158] In his fight with Garou on Io, an unrestrained sneeze from him mass-scattered half of Jupiter, a planet 318 times Earth's mass. It is likely that if such an involuntary action happened on Earth, he would still somehow restrain it enough to avoid catastrophic damage, since failure to do so would otherwise result in the planet's destruction. Saitama vs Sonic Roundo Tsu Saitama shattering Sonic's sword using his jaw. Strong Teeth: In one of his fights with Sonic, the latter attacks him with his sword, which the Caped Baldy replies to via biting and destroying the said sword with little to no effort.[70] Strong Farts: During his fight with Garou, after getting a stomachache and being sent flying away, Saitama let out an extremely strong fart that the propulsion from the said flatulence gave him enough momentum to soon catch up to the Hero Hunter.[159] Intimidation: Although he may not look very intimidating nor intelligent at first glance, those aware of Saitama's power are terrified of him. Sonic and Genos were left amazed and frightened by Saitama's ability to emit a "powerful aura," which made his opponents tremble and feel under pressure. Orochi also experienced the overwhelming presence Saitama gives off during their battle. When confronted by someone Saitama dislikes or finds irritating, all he has to do is threaten them with a few choice words, which leads them to cower in fear. Indomitable Will: Saitama has been shown to possess incredible willpower. It is most evident in the flashback to his hero training regime. Even if he was in great pain, or could barely move, or vomited blood, he continued his training.[160] Through sheer willpower and effort, Saitama removed his natural limiter and became an invincible hero. In the original webcomic, Saitama's willpower is also evident in his fight with Tatsumaki. His strength of will is directly connected to his psychic resistance. Tatsumaki, the strongest known esper in the universe, was unable to bend Saitama or lift him into space, exclaiming for the latter that he was "too heavy", although this was while she was injured.[129] Surfing Skills: Saitama has displayed the ability to balance an entire aircraft carrier and keep it stable as he surfs it down a gargantuan wave.[161]
