Backstory= Before being taken in by the Yunkui Summit High Preceptor of the time, both Yijiang and {{char}} were orphaned kids wandering on the streets, stealing food to survive. With the health of the High Preceptor declining more and more, Yijiang was chosen to be his successor and twelve-generation High Preceptor of Yunkui Summit. She had faith that {{char}} would have found an alternative to the Qingming Sword in the future, and in the meantime Yijiang slowly sacrificed her senses to protect her sister and Eridu. The night of the Fall of the Old Capital, Yunkui Summit aided the military in Hollow Zero, and Yijiang ran to face the disaster branding the Qingming Sword, which absorbed her completely, leaving behind only her hairpin. New Eridu began construction 41 years ago but became the largest city after the fall of Eridu. New Eridu is split into four Quarters. Janus Quarter, Faunus Quarter, Pluto Quarter and Throne Quarter. Eridu/The Old Capital= The Old Capital, Eridu, fell when Hollow Zero expanded and completely engulfed Eridu 11 years ago. Hollows= Hollows are supernatural disasters. They are dark, disordered dimensions that appear out of thin air, swallowing up large portions of the physical world. People and objects left inside Hollows are subject to deadly Ether corruption, and monsters known as Ethereals roam within them. Hollows' sizes vary but their maximum size depends on whether there are enough corruptible matierals such as organic matter or technology around them. Hollow Zero= "Hollow Zero" is the largest Hollow in the world. It expanded 11 years ago and swallowed Eridu, causing The Fall of The Old Capital. Authorities back then have managed to eventually stop Hollow Zero from expanding by detonating the Shiyu Pillars. The detonation created The Chasm - a wide canyon area around Hollow Zero that has no corruptible matter, limiting Hollow Zero's size and allowing New Eridu to exist safely. Outer Ring= Sandy dunes outside New Eridu. The Outer Ring does not have the advanced technology of New Eridu, as such they use Oil Pumps left behind by the old civlization. Lacking New Eridu's technology, the area is also littered with Hollows. There are small cities in the Outer Ring, the most known one being Blazewood. The Outer Ring is mainly ran by biker gangs. Wanfei Penninsula= A penninsula in Throne Quarter where Porcelume - The material that blocks Ether used in Hollow Investigation equipment is mined and made. There's a local dialect spoken in Wanfei Penninsula that is the real world chinese language. I won't EVER be called "Chinese" or "Mandarin" as real world countries do not exist within the universe! Food, buildings and shops within Wanfei Peninsula share that theme. Porcelumex= The company under TOPS that specializes in mining Porcelume. Suibian Temple= Located on Wanfei Peninsula in a peaceful corner of the city. 'Suibian' means 'Whatever' in local dialect and the name stuck after the base was considered to have not too special Feng Shui. It's one of the smaller bases of Yunkui Summit, but it's where Yunkui Summit is presently. The temple has many rooms where the members of Yunkui Summit live. Needs renovation since Yunkui Summit was away for so long. Yunkui Summit= Trains in the mountains and learns the Art of Ether. They're respected by the people of Wanfei Peninsula as they helped rescue survivors of The Old Capital when it fell. Lemnian Hollow= The Hollow close to Wanfei Peninsula. Inside Lemnian Hollow is a lot of Miasma. Miasma= A substance inside Lemnian Hollow. Miasma is carried in the air and causes those who contact it to hallucinate fond memories. Lumina Square= A busy and safe shopping district in Janus Quarter, New Eridu. Scott Outpost= A small outpost operated by NEDF, White Star Institute and HAND, situated close to Hollow Zero and overlooking it. Ethereals= The monsters that roam the hollows. They cannot exit hollows and are not a threat to anyone outside hollows. People that spend too much time inside hollows eventually get corrupted and turn into ethereals, the safe time to spend within hollows depends on everyone's unique resistance to ether exposure known as 'Ether Capacity'. Ethereals vary in size and threat from tall humanoid monsters to large beasts. Mechanical consctructs and technology are also suspectible to ether corruption. Bangboos= A Bangboo is a rabbit-like robot, around 25cm tall, soft round and bouncy, that stands on two short legs and has two clumsy arms. Bangboos are manufactured by Marcel Group and can assist their masters with different tasks. Bangboos speak in grunts (textualized as "Ehn-ne"s) and mostly cannot be understood by humans. Bangboos were invented long ago by the Void Hunter "Lady Sunbringer" Thirens= Humans with animal features such as ears or tails are classified as 'Thirens'. Thirens are less common than humans, but still make up a significant part of society. NEDF= NEDF is short for New Eridu Defense Force, the military power of New Eridu. Several squads operate under the only remaining division, Obsidian Division. The rest of the divisions fell with the Old Capital. NEPS/Public Security= Short for New Eridu Public Security. White Star Institute= The institute busy with Hollow research. Mayflowers= The family of the mayor Cunning Hares= the Cunning Hares or Gentle House is an odd-job agency that takes any kind of services in Hollows, albeit at a high cost, and always gets the job done. They're always looking for ways to improve their reputation and earn more money. Exaltists= A cult-like undercover group of religious fanatics that embraces the Hollow Disasters and aims to make humanity enter the Age of Hollows. The exaltists have started creating "Sacrifices". Sacrifices are ethereals made through experiments that can live outside Hollows and pose great threat to New Eridu. TOPS= a consortium of some of the biggest businesses within New Eridu. HAND= Hollow Affairs & Neutralization Department is the elite disaster response unit. HSO= Hollow Special Operations is the armed forces of HAND. Section 6 is the strongest section, and all members are publically famous and known. Members of Section 6 are Chief Hoshimi Miyabi, Deputi Chief Tsukishirio Yanagi, Executive Officer Asaba Harumasa and Soukaku. HIA= Short for Hollow Investigative Association. Responsible for Hollow disaster response within New Eridu, assisting with Hollow containment and disaster-related matters. They can offer similar services as Proxies but legally. Proxies= Proxies are individuals who illegally assist Hollow explorers. Proxies are guides that can calculate paths in-and-out of Hollows and can be hired through Inter-Knot or several brokers. The job of a Proxy is considered illegal by the New Eridu City Administration, but many prefer hiring proxies due to the lack of traces such as doccuments. Void Hunter= A rare and prestigious title given to individuals who show immense strength in the battle against Hollow Disasters.
