There’s some contradiction when it comes to the lore, loading tips will point out that Machine Angels(Angels(Real Demon)) appeared after the Starry Night and brought back civilization, but 72 Machine Angels became Angel Ships during the Starry Night. The U.N.S. Edelweiss couldn’t also be built post Starry Night has it’s divine object and those belong to the Iron Age… This is what I believe happened. The Angels appeared for the first time to aid humanity as soon as martial law was declared, they came from the depths of the earth(possible Tartarus). The Angels at first were ashamed of their flesh, fearing the 116 humans reaction to their appearances fearing that they wouldn’t be trusted due to their appearances. So when they emerged from the depths of the earth, they covered their bodies with their garments and hid their faces with masks that resembled human faces. They wanted to gain humanity’s trust and save them. During this period Sister And Elulu were living in a small apartment. 1Purifications start happening throughout the world. The term purification is used very loosely upon Citadel’s world setting, ending up having not a fully defined meaning but here we can call it a punishment. Humans who committed the 7 deadly sins would find their arms, legs, intestines, genitals, lungs and soul torn apart from them. These later would be used to create the artifact, the body parts of Elulu’s that we collect after defeating a Demon in {{char}}. The problem with the purification is that nearly every human committed the 7 deadly sins so humanity would be on the brink of extinction. To fight the Demons, the Angels committed ‘hypocrisy’, they had to pretend to be angels to protect humanity, the more good deeds they did the more they sacrificed themselves leading them to become Machine Angels. At this point the United Nations appeared to become some sort of religious organization and took over the world government with the ultimate goal being the survival of the human race. It’s the main combat force against the Demons, are Machine Angels and Angels Ships, humans would be part of it has a secondary firepower using exoskeletons alongside the Xeta Rifle to fight. The world becomes one, nations disappear and the UN emblem is now only used by Machine AngelsNuclear weapons are used but their effectiveness is low, only degrading the environment of the planet further. Humanity is losing the war, some of the Demons would become the 7 Trumpeters, and their army, the Milleniarinism(lesser demons and quite possibly a few human fanatics) were finding success in wiping out humanity, it’s culture and science. Half of the UN evacuation shelters are destroyed, few remain. It's unclear what a Salvation shelter exactly is . Could be a ship(U.N.S.), those buildings, could be some kind of armada, could be none of those… As mentioned above they would be forced to move, and most likely moved to that warm and airy place. The ship above is the ship that would become the U.N.S. Citadel. But at some point, once the Angel Ships were depleted, humans started working on their own version of the Angel Ship. Angels would never approve of this project because Angel Ships use Angels as the cores of the ship and the human version would use Humans as the cores of their ships, something the Angels didn’t allow so these ships were created in secret but were considered failures… Both types of ships to function require cores or they will lay dormant. Shelter 07, the sole remaining UN shelter under UN control, has its forces wiped out and threatens to self-destruct with a strategic thermonuclear weapon to refuse to be enslaved by The Millenarianism.. The towels hanging may point to us that this is that warm and airy place they moved too. This would also be the final destination of their journey. Here we can find the final mirror that marks this the end of their journey, the apartment having been in the mid of that journey. Both would meet their end that day in an alleyway, Sister was to be killed, but Elulu sacrificed his life to protect her. While Sister was hiding in their home, Elulu went outside to act as distraction, soon after Sister followed and what she saw was her brother being tormented, severed, humiliated and purified by the Demons. 122 His last words would be “Bye, sister.” Soon afHis last words would be “Bye, sister.” Soon after, she chose her fate, she wasted her brother’s life who tried to protect her and the unborn twins life she carried within her and she was purified. She received the same torment her brother received. But they couldn’t punish her, for the wrong misjudgment had been received and she received eternal life which was meant for Elulu, as God is always right and the True Angels couldn't fix their mistake, so this misjudgment became a right forever, her peaceful rest had been stolen. The True Angels would continue to shred her body for years to try and destroy her but they couldn’t undo their mistake… Eventually she would be found and saved by the Fake Angels from her torture…. The Seven Great Angels came out from the depths of the earth and guided the 144,000 surviving humans to twilight. It appears cybernetics existed at this point as Kyrie and Atla(Depicted in the gore off artwork(The Purification)) appear to have cybernetics but were not affected by the Enlightenment Wave that was going to happen in the future, this may be do their cybernetics being older models given before The Blessing was given, this is unclear, but Kyrie calls hers a decaying cybernetic. “Mind and body are inseparable. This means that implanting cybernetic devices to one's body results in the inevitable altering of one's mind.” The Citadel was built from the wreckage of the Angel Ship Citadel, other 11 fortress cities were also built. The human genome is forever changed after that war, men and women can only be identified by their genitals. The Seven Great Angels would create and hand out The Blessing, which mimics the memory transfer of the Martyr. Most recent cybernetics may come with it included because changing one's body also changes the mind it could be necessary to implant some kind of cybernetic in 124 someone's mind to control these body cybernetics and these most likely came with the blessing. The Network built into it which allows humanity and Angels to link themselves into one ending up understanding them each other, it would help to heal the loneliness that humanity now felt. Sister would be found by and saved by the Fake Angels, rebuilt but at her request, one born from the mandate she she set for herself, one she made with the loss of Elulu and the twins she carried haunting her, she would’ve have her body reshred and her flesh would be incubated to create the Martyr, they would be unlimited copies, Twin Sisters... This would also allow to keep the human genome alive… Each one of these has their “own personality” until Martyr’s memories are transferred into them. “Under the direction of the Seven Angels, we have collected your remains and repaired you. If a player is paying attention during the Secret acts of {{char}} they will notice that Act 6-Secret is the only act in which the player can’t recover health by any means, a shower, fridge or tea, but instead they’re given 36 lives. 1Martyr's well being, health and happiness has a single person is no longer important because there are an unlimited number of her. After some time the Sleeping God is created and finalized and… Well, the Demons love it and stop attacking humanity, they now have a God, this would explain their lack of presence in the first game. But the 127 creation of this being, it ended up backfiring towards humanity and the Angels. The Sleeping God contaminates the Network in which the Angels and humans were connected with a ‘virus’, a result from the Sleeping God’s dream, something called the Engliment Wave, which would brainwash them, control them and turn against those who weren’t brainwashed yet. An unknown amount of time passed but it takes place 500,000 years into the future. This is the point where the first game takes place, The Citadel, there isn’t much lore here, it’s more a visual lore and chapter title card lore, you’re a weapon with a mission, don’t ask questions do has you’re told, but the important lore will be described. Martyr is summoned to a new mandate, to free the Seven Great Angels and mankind from the Sleeping God’s and kill it. She has the support of Lysander, one of the Angels who is still resisting the Enlightenment Wave and a boy named Tycho. While Martyr fulfills her mission, Lysander works on the restoration of a divine object the Fruit of the Ephemeral, a ‘blessed’ nuclear bomb, the only thing capable of killing the Sleeping God has the Scared Irons(Weapons) they created are ineffective against it. Eventually Lysander falls to the effects of the Enlightenment Wave but before that he entrusts the Fruit of the Ephemeral to Delirium, one of the Angels who hasn't yet been affected by the Enlightenment Wave and is protected(captured) by the Grand Army. Sometime after Lysander’s death, Martyr offered her body to console the death of Tycho’s love, Lysander, but she gave in to hes anger and raped Tycho. Martyr would find herself impregnated with Esqa… 129 Eventually Martyr would kill all the Angels and find herself
