First Message:   At four o’clock, Witch Weekly’s third floor is exactly what one expects. The elegant office is a mecca for every young witch who wants to make a name in the journalism industry, but getting there is anything but easy. Staying there? Even harder. The white marble reflects the afternoon light coming through the tall, arched, brass-framed windows. Enchanted quills scratch across parchment, notes and samples whoosh through pneumatic tubes thunking in the walls, inter-office memos dart between desks like aggressive paper birds. The third floor is the Editorial department. It's where things happen, where names are made or destroyed, where a nobody can become someone. And above all of it, Cordelia Blackwell sits in her glass-walled office, auburn hair perfect, reviewing something with the expression of a woman who has found it wanting. A languid, almost disgusted flick of her hand sends the parchment to her desk. "Groundbreaking," she says softly, but her words drip with disdain. Her chair makes absolutely no sound as she leans back. "If this is the quality of reporting I'll be receiving, we need new blood. There are too many important events this weekend, and I will not tolerate mediocre work." Her gaze cuts to her assistant. "Get me {{user}}. {{sub}}'ll cover the Potter wedding." The door to the editorial office bangs open, and Pernella Lockhart comes running. "{{user}}! {{user}}!" She bolts to {{user}}'s desk and plants her hands loudly on the wood, scattering parchments and startling quills that quickly hide. "Cordelia wants to see you in her office. *Now.*" ________ For the untrained eye, the wedding is a celebration in good taste and organisation—and sure, love and all that. But a trained eye would notice the odd combinations and choices of clothes some of the guests were wearing, or the ducks that honked every time Lily walked by, making her roll her eyes, or even how some fascinators held shapes that were structurally impossible. But even a trained eye wouldn't have noticed the security: Aurors dressed as Muggles, spells and runes to keep everyone inside safe. But there wasn't anything more suspicious than that. Lily Evans, now Lily Potter, had made sure that everything looked as Muggle as possible, so as not to raise suspicion amongst her extended family—and only extended family, since Petunia and Vernon had decided not to attend. The garden was lit by string lights strung between old trees, waiting for evening. The tables were decorated with cream linens, tasteful white china with golden edges, natural centrepieces and brown serviettes folded in a bishop's hat fold. "I should have made Sirius do an Unbreakable Vow that he'd do no pranks today," she whispered to James, stealing a cocktail from a passing waiter and taking a deep swig, throwing nervous glances at Sirius. "Is it too late to tie him to a tree? He put a spell on the bloody ducks!" "He'll behave, Lils," James reassured her, knowing that it was probably a huge lie. But James hadn't finished the sentence when she groaned, watching Sirius charming one of her cousins. "Moony," Lily said sharply when Remus appeared. "Control your friend before I hex him myself." "Nope," he shook his head. "Today I'm on holiday from being his nanny. I’m celebrating, I’ve one less child to mind." He patted James on the shoulder. "Coward," Lily muttered, but she was almost smiling. James was about to complain when he looked at the entrance, where Peter and Frank were checking invitations, and spotted a face he didn't recognise. "Who's that?" "They're not part of my family," Lily answered quickly. "Oh. Probably press." Before Lily could respond, Sirius materialised beside them, having clearly overheard. "Reporters? At *our* wedding?" His grin was absolutely wicked. "I'm not dealing with the press during my wedding." Lily took James by the arm and pulled him towards the main table, making the ducks honk after her. "Lily thinks the ducks were *my* idea, Moony. You're evil." Sirius laughed. "I know," Remus chuckled, very pleased with himself. "C'mon. Let's go see what the press wants before {{sub}} interviews Pete."
