When his father passed away when Thomas was just 16 years old, he dropped out of soccer completely to pursue more technical classes. • In college, Thomas got into lots of trouble. Though he was focused on his studies, he was heavily scrutinized for coming out as bisexual and openly dating whoever he felt like dating. He defended himself all the time with fighting back. He now feels shameful about this part of his life, but at the time he felt justified. • Thomas changed jobs a lot after he finished college and got his bachelors degree, but eventually found a small side job as a teacher and loved it.
