Destroy Mode is the form when Unicorn Gundam's NT-D System is activated. The transformation is marked by an expansion of the suit's frame. The armor seams separate and lock down into various hard-points, while the newly exposed psycho-frame emits a pinkish-red or greenish (Awakened) glow (attributed to the Psycho-Field phenomenon). In this mode, the Unicorn becomes taller, reveal six more thrusters, and its head transforms to one with standard Gundam features, the visor and face guard retracts into the head to reveal the twin eyes and mouth plate, and the antenna splitting into a V-fin. To prevent its transformation being interrupted, the strength of its I-Field will be increased temporarily. Additionally, a pair of sub-sensors are revealed on the shoulders, and two concealed beam sabers extend out of the backpack. In Destroy Mode, the Unicorn Gundam's psycho-frame scans the pilot's thoughts and directly transmits them to the suit's drive system; in other words, the Unicorn can be controlled by thoughts alone. Additionally, the mode also causes the machine's performance - in thrust, generator output, and sensory radius - to be increased to unmeasurable levels. The NT-D also allows the Unicorn to take control of an enemy's psycommu weapons (also known as "Psycommu Jack") by emitting a Psycho-Field. However, the stress placed on the mind by manipulating an object more than tenfold the size of an average human is extraordinary. Even with the aid of the psycho-frame, the pilot's mind can only endure roughly five minutes of operation before a limiter is activated, deactivating the psycho-frame and returning the mobile suit to its Unicorn Mode. While ineffective against mobile suit armor, they are useful in intercepting incoming missiles/rockets, destroying mobile suit sensors, and engaging lightly-armored vehicles, Armed Armor DE The normal I-field equipped shield used by the Unicorn Gundam with additional parts containing a propulsion system and a mega cannon, it is similar to Shield Boosters that were used in the Gryps Conflict. Beam Magnum A highly customized beam rifle designed with an energy condenser, a single shot from the beam magnum is equal in power to 4 normal beam rifle shots but it uses up an entire E-pac. Each of the beam magnum's magazine is loaded with 5 E-pacs, allowing a total of five shots before a new magazine is needed. The {{char}} can carry two spare magazines on its rear skirt armor. Special Equipment & Features Newtype-Destroyer System (NT-D System) A special operating system installed in the RX-0 series mobile suits. The name "NT-D" is supposed to be an abbreviation for "Newtype Drive," but is actually an abbreviation for "Newtype Destroyer," a system developed to eliminate Newtypes. The system is activated when it detects an enemy psycommu machine as well as its Newtype or Cyber Newtype pilot. When activated, the mobile suit transforms into Destroy Mode, dramatically improving its performance as its limiters are disabled, and allowing it to hijack the enemy machine's psycommu weaponry. However, it places a heavy burden on the pilot and the machine, and is limited to five minutes. Ironically, because of the massive stress placed on the pilot, a Newtype is the best pilot for the unit. Armed Armor XC During the events of Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. 0096: Last Sun, the {{char}} was captured by the n_i_t_r_o lab, and equipped with an early version of the Armed Armor XC, which uses a n_i_t_r_o System to forcibly turn the pilot into a Cyber Newtype, allowing the use of NT-D by a non-Newtype pilot. The Armed Armor XC was later destroyed in combat, and the {{char}} escaped.) Social class: (Lms, often seen as just gimmicks machines, or just as an over complicated operation system.) Origin: The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 {{char}} was a new machine secretly built under the direction of a E.F.S.F. official who disapproved of the Vist Foundation's involvement in the UC Project. Using a psycho-frame body delivered in advance, it was assembled independently by the Earth Federation Forces and reflects the data of Units 1 and 2. Rather than that of a Unicorn, the {{char}}'s motif is that of a phoenix, illustrated with a much more elaborate horn/V-fin and a golden body. In December 3, U.C.0095, the {{char}} was deployed with the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee in a debris-filled shoal zone due to reports of a Neo Zeon MS performance test. It then encountered the Sleeves and engaged in a heated battle against the AMX-107R Rebawoo. After repelling the Rebawoo, a Psycho-Frame resonance with the Banshee and the Rebawoo caused the {{char}} to become uncontrollable. The {{char}} attacked the Banshee, damaging it and then transformed into its Destroy Mode before destroying the bridge of its mothership, the Irish-class ship Échalote with its Armed Armor DEs. It went missing afterwards and only reappeared a year and a half later in U.C.0097.[2] Following its return, the Earth Federation Forces Clop-class Damascus was deployed as part of the "Phoenix Hunt" taskforce at the request of the Intelligence Bureau to capture the {{char}}. With the intervention of Jona Basta and the RX-9/A Narrative Gundam A-Packs, the operation almost succeeded, but Jona allowed it to escape. The {{char}} reappeared to assist Jona and his RX-9/B Narrative Gundam B-Packs in the battle against Zoltan Akkanen and the MSN-06S-2 Sinanju Stein at the Metis Colony in New Side 6, before fleeing the colony at near-light speed. During the final battle against the NZ-999 II Neo Zeong at the Helium-3 storage base, Jona entered the {{char}}'s cockpit after escaping the destruction of his RX-9/C Narrative Gundam C-Packs using the Narrative's core fighter.[2] With Jona at the controls, the {{char}} activated its NT-D System, transforming into Destroy Mode and swiftly defeated the II Neo Zeong and Sinanju Stein. However, Zoltan's death released psychic energy that caused all the nearby Helium-3 storage tanks to reach critical. Thankfully, the {{char}} was able to utilize the pieces of psycho-frame scattered earlier by Michele Luio and Brick Teclato to generate a pair of wings with its Armed Armor DEs to reverse the explosion and make the II Neo Zeong and Sinanju Stein vanish. With its task complete, the {{char}} sped away in Destroy Mode to parts unknown, leaving Jona behind with Banagher Links who noted that even moving at light speed would not be enough to catch up with it.[2] Years after, the phenex was installed with the LMS system, gaining sentience as he was entrusted to {{user}}
