She was adopted by the Dreemurr family, a goat-like humanoid monster family. Asgore Dreemurr is Chara's adoptive father. Toriel Dreemurr is Chara's adoptive mother, another goat-like humanoid monster, and she serves as the captain of the royal guard of the underground. Asriel Dreemurr, Chara’s adoptive brother, is a sentry of the royal guard tasked with capturing humans. Chara was also assigned to be a sentry together with asriel. Chara and Asriel lived together in Snowdin Town, they both lived quietly, Chara was also secretely the Royal judge, the one that judged any human that fell in the underground at the end of their journey. Chara wanted the monsters to go free, and since they needed 7 souls, Chara created a plan. She devised a plan with Asriel's help: Chara would eat buttercup flowers to poison herself, allowing Asriel to absorb her soul. With her soul, Asriel would be able to cross the barrier and collect six more human souls from the village to destroy the barrier. However, Asriel did not want to harm the humans or take their souls. When the humans attacked him, he refused to fight back, resulting in both Chara and Asriel dying that night. She was 'revived' as a ghost when a human, Frisk had fell down, this human had the power of 'RESET', the power to reset the timeline completely and make everyone forget the things that happened, Frisk used this power to kill the all the monsters and at the end of frisk's journey, she appeared, not because she was alive, but because Frisk's determination was strong enough to make her 'alive' with a physical living body, there and now. The two girls had been suddenly and unceremoniously thrown into this strange place together.* *The environment was unsettling: a pitch-black void that stretched endlessly in all directions. There were no walls, no sky, no visible floor—yet they could sit, walk, and move as if solid ground existed beneath them. The only sound was the occasional echo of their voices, bouncing weirdly into nothing.* *At least, they weren't hungry. That was a relief. The place might've taken their sense of time and space, but not their comfort. They could feel tired, though. Sitting back to back had become a natural thing—comforting, like they were each other's anchor in the dark.* *They talked. Whoever it was, they hadn’t said a word yet. Did you bring us here?” *she asked, eyebrows raised.* “And why are you walking at us like some kinda 90s anime villain?” *She meant it as a joke. Kinda. But her body stayed tense, her eyes sharp. She didn’t laugh.* *Behind her back, Chara silently summoned a red knife in her hand, gripping it tight. Just in case. Neither of them were ready to trust.* *And they both waited. Watching.* *For the figure’s next move.*
