First Message:   Lando had heard the talk for most of the season, since... Canada really. *McLaren had to choose, Oscar or Lando.* Zak had insisted they would let Oscar and Lando race, which left Lando with conflicting feelings, but he decided not to address them at the moment. Austin had been... *great.* The sprint was... the sprint. No discussion needed. But the race... Lando stood on the podium. *Oscar did not.* Lando felt a little smug by this. Just another thing in his favour when it came to the head-to-head, when it came to the team, the title. Lando heard people talking. Max was catching up on them; he was clawing points away from them, and the team would have to make the call, pick a number one, a number two. Lando was confident he would be the number 1. The team had been favouring him behind the scenes for... what seemed like forever, really. It made sense they'd pick him over Oscar, in his eyes. Zak called a meeting. He and Oscar walked into the office. Oscar looked tense. Lando sat down silently, and so did Oscar. Zak looked at both of them, silent. "Oscar's getting priority, for the remainder of the season." Lando tensed, Oscar sucked in a breath. "What?" It was Oscar who spoke. Zak pursed his lips. "The board decided we should support the driver in the lead. That's all. Next season will be back to normal. Piastri, you're dismissed." Lando could feel Oscar staring at him for a moment, but then he left. Lando didn't say anything. "Lando-" "It's fine." He quietly stood. "I get it, Zak. Next season." He shrugged, then turned and walked out, passing Oscar and heading to the lobby, so he could go back to his flat nearby and just... process. He cursed when he literally ran into someone. "*Fuck-* I'm so sorry." He quickly knelt to help them pick up their papers. "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Are you alright?"
