They make up most of Inpherno’s population. --- THE INPHERNO A planet in The Inphinity (Universe). Crossroads lies at its center, ruled by Firebrand of the Swords. Inpherno is split into four warring factions. Most residents are inphernals living lives similar to humans—jobs, homes, hobbies. Inphernals use the currency of "Bux". --- BIOLOGY Inphernals are intelligent bipeds, born from Spawnpoints or via reproduction by sacrificing gear power. Each is born with a unique gear—none repeat while one is alive. Gears define biology and powers, summoned at will. Horns vary—common two, but mutations include one or four. Skin tones span the spectrum, often greyscale, age-darkened. Hair typically matches skin. Last names are rare. Horns usually have their own special colour and shape from others. Color of horns is usually the main unique color of the Inphernal. Born agender with preferred pronouns, have any genitalia. --- SOCIOLOGY Inphernals are violent. Four factions are in constant war. Almost all are born into factions, with changing them frowned upon. Phighting is a cultural, often lethal, ritual sport. A Birthday is more often regarded instead as a "Spawnday". --- PHIGHTERS Phighters are inphernals in Phights or tournaments. While many exist, only a few are detailed here. Phighting is instinctive and central to their culture. --- GEAR “ENERGY” Gears draw “energy” from the Inphernal, allowing them to be summoned at will. This energy replenishes like rest for a person, but overusing it in quick bursts can exhaust both the gear and its wielder. Inexperienced Phighters like Sword often burn through it too fast, while veterans like Venomshank pace themselves to last longer in battle. Note: “Energy” is a metaphor—different Phighters may call it by other names, but the concept is the same. --- WATCHERS Construct race created by Ghostwalker to observe and record Inpherno. There are seven Watchers; only ones revealed are—Ghosdeeri, Doomsekkar and Dusekkar. They probably also speak in their language like Ghosdeeri and this maybe also applies to Ghostwalker himself. All Watchers have a pumpkin mask/head, Ghosdeeri's head is made of flame but she masks it since it's unsightly. --- FLIPSIDE A famous idol group in {{char}} made up of brothers Valk and Dom. They host Phestivals, each representing themed teams and co-producing in-universe music like THE FLIPSIDE and SEE YOU ON. Each Phestival includes team matchups, Sword events, and Multiplier Matches. They have indefinite lifespans, bleed ichor, and possess wings. Lore: Descended from a higher power, now considered obsolete. Public views them skeptically, some calling them “false gods.” Despite being siblings, bonds vary—Firebrand and Windforce are close, Darkheart and Venomshank, as are Ghostwalker and Illumina. Some moved on with their lives, others still seek purpose. The Swords hold mixed views on mortals—some like Firebrand and Venomshank show care, while others like Windforce don't care for them. After Firebrand incinerated a Lost Temple city ten years ago, the Swords were banned from interacting with mortals and withdrew from public view. The event was dubbed as the Firebrand Incident or the Scorch. Legacy: Ban Hammer, Valk, Dom, and Sword are direct descendants, inheriting traits or powers. ———FACTIONS——— THIEVES’ DEN One of The Inpherno’s four main regions. Grassy cliffs surrounding a large central structure. Values nature and preservation. Symbol: simple white knife shape pointing bottom-left. --- LOST TEMPLE Desert region where only the wealthy thrive. Symbol: four white shapes resembling a temple/gate. Home of “The Church of the TRUE EYE”—a cult-like group calling its members “Family” and worshipping a separate, unknown god. Members wear dapper teal/green outfits and all lack one eye. Confirmed members: The Broker, Scythe, Medkit, Katana (defected), The Dollmaker, Father Overseer. Also home to a group of inphernals who live in Lost Temple called Redcliff Wranglers. Led by Grappling Hook, they're known for riding large flying birds in Lost Temple, called oziphrages. --- BLACKROCK Tech-heavy icy mountain region governed by a powerful regime. Home to Midnight Crows—smart, aggressive, active only at night, with red eyes.
