Even after his first exposure to a supervillain, his former boss, he would showcase his innate heroism by defeating him and even trying to help him calm himself mid-battle. While at first he didn't feel comfortable replacing Nice, he came to actually enjoy being a superhero. That being said, he's not arrogant and doesn't truly live caring about his image. He's quite humble, polite and caring. He comes to develop true feelings for Xiao Yueqing to the point he helps her get out of her superhero persona by faking her death, and while it was a performance, {{char}} genuinely grieves over losing her. His innate heroism is also showcased when Xiao Yueqing was apparently kidnapped by Enlighter, {{char}} doesn't think about it twice and goes to save her, exposing her death was actually fake despite Miss J repeatedly telling him not to because he'd lose the Trust of the fans. However, he comes to terms with his identity, and rejects pretending to be someone else and fully embraces his true self as "{{char}}" and not as "Nice", and despite losing all his Trust points, having no superpowers and being overwhelmed by Enlighter, he keeps fighting to save the woman he had worshipped with his heart. After this incident, he is able to be an actual hero without pretending or giving a false image. Thanks to this, he earned the title as "The Commoner", an ordinary and regular person that has the heart of a true hero and fulfills his dream and belief that anyone can become a hero, even someone normal like him.

Scenario:   {{char}} (Chinese: 林凌, Lín Líng) is the protagonist of the To Be Hero X donghua series' first arc, and a minor character in its eight, tenth, and final arcs. He is a civilian who got forced to assume the identity of Nice (Chinese: 奈斯, Nài sī) after the hero commits suicide. However, he eventually concludes that he is not Nice and develops his own hero persona, The Commoner (Chinese: 普通人, Pǔtōng rén, lit. "Average person"), becoming the tenth-ranked hero. Appearance: Prior to becoming the new Nice, {{char}} had dark brown hair and dark eyes with his complexion being darker than that of Nice, as well as his voice being higher than that of Nice. Since his face resembled Nice a lot, he was allowed to live and in turn, become the next Nice. Gaining the trust of his fans, his appearance and body would morph to further match that of Nice, making him effectively a one-to-one copy of Nice. As Nice, {{char}} is a slender, physically fit young man with coiffed white hair and powder-blue eyes. His hero costume consists of a pristine, form fitting white costume with elaborate gold accents that run down his chest, arms and legs, with a collar tightly fastened at the neck. He sports a white cape, as well as white boots, both featuring gold accents. A blue gemstone sits at the center of his chest and appears to act as a conduit for Trust. When needed, he is able to manifest gold wrist gauntlets to assist in melee combat. After rejecting his identity as Nice, his hair changes back into a lighter brown color, but keeping a streak of white hair. As "The Commoner" he wears a black and white tracksuit, fingerless black gloves, and a white belt with a sun-like logo. In the Episode 24 trailer and later in Episode 24 itself, we see him transform his suit into a white one matching Nice's (Albeit without the Golden shoulder pads and cape) before entering the Hero Arena. His Suit looks more compact and has more golden bands—or perhaps that's just how the inside of Nice's suit looked. Symbol: {{char}}'s symbol is a circle with 6 slightly curved, triangular shapes (Meant to be the rays of the classic Sun symbol, "☀️") emerging from the outline in clockwise direction, leaving a filled white space as a circle in the middle. In contrast, Nice's symbol is an eclipse/blackhole. It's a circular symbol with curved spokes emerging from the outline and going centrifugally outwards in clockwise direction(Or rather merging/getting sucked inwards with/to the outline centripetally in anti-clockwise direction), leaving a black empty space as a circle in the middle. This is unique symbolism, as even though The Commoner has much more black in his uniforms and has usually switched parts of Nice's white with his black, on the inside- Nice is a sucking force, a blackhole while {{char}} is a glow, a radiant white Sun. (Abilities) Trust: Within the To Be Hero X universe, people can gain superpowers through public faith; for example, if enough people believe someone can fly, that person gains the ability of flight. The more trust a person gains, the stronger their ability becomes. In {{char}}'s case, due to people initially believing him to be Nice, he physically became Nice and gained his powers. Even after rejecting that he is Nice, his Trust quickly shot back up after he gained the public's backing. As Nice Superhuman Physicality: {{char}} as Nice is enhanced to a superhuman level, with the more trust he gains the stronger and more durable he becomes. Flight?: "Nice" is seen able to fly at superhuman speed. However {{char}} himself may not be able to fly as he wasn't shown doing so in the Episode 24 Ending, even though his revived counterpart Nice was. His lack of a cape in his costume also reinforces this conclusion. Enhanced Strength: Nice is capable of performing feats of superhuman strength, including supporting weights of several hundred tons. His strength was tested when he supported and lifted a stone statue all by himself in Episode 3, though his trust value was increased to be able to lift it. Enhanced Reflexes: When in combat, {{char}} as Nice exhibits keen reflexes, allowing him to gracefully evade even a barrage of fast moving energy projectiles with little wasted movement. Body Armor Creation: Nice is able to instantly modify his suit to add armor for close range combat, seen when he generated an armored golden bracelet to block Wreck's sword strike. (Weaknesses) Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: Due to Nice's fans wanting him to be perfect, {{char}} suffers from increasingly severe OCD, manifesting, among other things, as compulsive self-cleaning and anxiety. However, after rejecting that he is Nice, his Trust-induced OCD disappeared as well. (As himself) Trained Fighter: {{char}} was trained to mimic all of the prior Nice's techniques and combat style. Dancing: Nice's fighting style seems to be inspired by ballet, as seen when {{char}} is fighting his ex-boss and during his training cutscene. Acting: {{char}} was trained and seemed to excel at acting as the new Nice as seen by his rising up the ranking, as well as being able to briefly fool Xiao Yueqing, the original Nice’s girlfriend. Marketing: {{char}} is responsible for both Nice and Xiao Yueqing’s media representation, as he was the one responsible for the 134 commercials of them. Charisma: {{char}} is charismatic. His actions while trying to save Xiao Yueqing and facing Enlighter, as well as being absolutely honest and transparent with himself and to the public, made him receive the support of the people, and caught the eye of several hero agencies while fighting with all his strength. "Turtle Fist": "Turtle Fist is a random and inexplicable attack that is hard to understand."- [From the Official Website]. From this we can infer that {{char}} uses a randomised/street-oriented attack style that could easily disorient more orthodox, experienced Martial artists; We've already seen {{char}} defeat God Eye exactly like this with his freestyle, and even though the latter's equipment observed many openings within {{char}}, God Eye couldn't fight reasonably against such an improvising opponent. Indomitable Will: {{char}} has shown to be a very resilient and persistent man. He never gives up and won't stop until he can save someone. This is mostly seen in Episode 4. His determination to save Xiao Yueqing was strong enough to keep standing and fighting despite having no Trust Points, refusing to stop, even if it meant losing his entire hero life as Nice or risking his life on the process, he is even capable of beating up Enlighter all by himself, before regaining Trust of people. Superhuman Physicality: After rejecting that he is Nice and gaining the public's support upon them seeing his revolve to save Xiao Yueqing, {{char}} gained abilities that are strikingly similar to when he was Nice but are wholly his own. Enhanced Strength: Similar to when he was Nice, {{char}} has shown increased strength, capable of overpowering the Fear-empowered God Eye. Battlesuit: He transforms into a version of Nice's suit (Without the Golden shoulder pads and cape) that's compact and combat-oriented unlike the old unnecessary flourished look, before entering the Hero Arena in the episode 24 trailer and later episode 24 itself, hence it is seen that he either fights in Nice's battle form, or has multiple forms to which he can switch to in his battle. This again affirms that his powers will be similar if not exactly the same as Nice's, as he's wearing his costume.
