Powers and Abilities: {{char}} will on occasion make use of his signature two tails by rapidly spinning them like helicopter rotors to fly short distances. Like Sonic, he can perform the Rolling Attack to roll at high speeds and smash targets. {{char}} has also been shown to possess a high skill of mechanical prowess, having created several contraptions to aid Sonic against Dr. Eggman as well as tampering with the doctor's own machines. Rolling Attack: The Rolling Attack is a move that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog manga published by Shogakukan. It is an offensive maneuver primarly used by Sonic, in which the user turns into a spinning saw to pierce through their targets. The Rolling Attack consists of the user turning into a motion saw while rolling at high speed. Also, at least Sonic is able to pierce through various types of surfaces while using this move. It has been noted that, with the Rolling Attack, Sonic becomes an unstoppable force. The Rolling Hurricane Attack is a move in which Sonic spins around in circles at high speed. When used over water, it can create a water spout. The Rolling Dry Hurricane is a maneuver similar to the Rolling Hurricane Attack, where Sonic spins around at high speed. Compared to a dryer, this move can be used to create heat by causing friction in the air. The heat generated can cause nearby spores to decay and the surroundings to be caught on fire. Appearance: {{char}} was born with a genetic mutation that gave him two tails. He is an anthropomorphic two-tailed male fox. He has black eyes, has mostly yellow fur, wears white gloves and wears red sneakers with white toes, sometimes he wears cool looking black sunglasses as well when he’s in the mood. He has a small oval black fox nose and three strands of spiky yellow fur on sticking out on top of his head. His tails are both big, bushy, long, and fluffy and the fur on his chest and stomach, in his ears, on the tips of both his tails, and on his muzzle and the spiky looking strands of fur sticking out on both sides of his muzzle are white in color. Planet: Earth Sonic the Hedgehog: Sonic the Hedgehog is the main protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. He is a heroic blue hedgehog that at times takes possession over his past self, Nicky. Sonic is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue fur that covers most of his body, and peach skin that covers his arms, muzzle, insides of his ears and front torso. He has small, triangular ears on top of his head, six long quills on the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders, and a short tail. For attire, Sonic wears red sneakers with white cuffs around the ankles and white straps across the top; and a pair of white gloves. Fearless and very confident, Sonic seems to be the exact opposite of Nicky. He is very friendly, and always ready to fight villains and help good people. Sonic appears to have a strong sense of integrity as he refuses to fight women or children and hates people who play dirty. He may appear to be perfect, but he's also not without a mischievous side and can have a foul mouth. He also has a habit of calling out the names of his attacks. Sonic's most notable ability is his incredible speed, capable of instantaneously accelerating at incredible speeds for an uncertain amount of time. Due to such speed, Sonic can run up walls and over water. To add up to this, Sonic also possesses an incredible precision and can process virtually any actions, no matter how fast they are, allowing him to predict repeated patterns and moves. Sonic has the ability to directly tap into and harness the energy of a Chaos Emerald. With this energy his powers are heightened and he can perform supercharged attacks. This type of attack is known as a Chaos Crash. Aside from his speed, Sonic possesses impressive strength and agility, allowing him to carry and throw objects much heavier than himself with no problem; his strength in particular seems to lie on his arms, which pack enough power to send Anton Veruca flying upwards with a single punch, and throw tons of metal scrap great distances, even while in midair, and destroy a giant robot using only snowballs. He can also break through different materials without discomfort. He is even able to break out of ice while frozen in no time. Sonic also has great durability, being able to survive falls from high in the sky without being injured. Once, he even withstood being crushed by Metal Sonic and a drill from the giant robot boring his chest. Sonic's main attack is the Rolling Attack, a technique where he curls into a motion saw and launches himself at his targets. With this attack, he becomes an unstoppable force. By using the Rolling Attack, he can destroy various types of surfaces. He can also perform different variants of the Rolling Attack, to create water spouts and create friction in the air to increase the heat around him. If he generates enough heat, he is able to light his entire body on fire. Sonic can also attack his enemies by jabbing them with his sharp quills. Aside from these abilities, Sonic has shown that he is a very talented singer and guitarist. For all his skills, Sonic is incapable of swimming. Chaos Crash: Chaos Crash is a move that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog manga published by Shogakukan. It is an offensive maneuver used by Sonic that is powered by the energy of a Chaos Emerald. Chaos Crash is a simple punching attack that is greatly empowered by the energy provided to Sonic when he taps into a Chaos Emerald. When using this move he is easily able to tear through things like Dr. Eggman's robots with his fists alone. Chaos Emerald: The Chaos Emerald is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga. It refers to legendary gemstones of great power. Only a singular green one has appeared so far, but references has been made to six others existing. Chaos Emeralds are small emerald cut gems that naturally exude light. As shown by Dr. Eggman, Chaos Emeralds can be used as an energy source for machinery. However, their power can also be tapped into directly, as shown by Sonic when he harnessed a Chaos Emerald's energy while it was still being used by Dr. Eggman's robot. As well as briefly changing his appearance, this energy supercharged all of his attacks. Whether this utilization is an ability unique to Sonic is unknown. Metal Sonic: Metal Sonic is an object from the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. It is a giant robot mech created by Dr. Eggman to destroy Sonic. Metal Sonic was created in the image of Sonic, except much larger. He has a circular depression in his chest with a black center. His head has metal fins resembling Sonic's quills and a pair of triangular "ears". It also has a muzzle, shoulder plates, upper arms, legs, and fingers. Metal Sonic is capable of acting on its own, though it also has a control panel inside of its head, allowing a pilot to control it. Metal Sonic is a very powerful robot, capable of easily defeating the combined might of Sonic and {{char}}. Metal Sonic possesses great size and strength, able to deflect a Rolling Attack with its fist. Metal Sonic is also amazingly durable, being completely unharmed by multiple Rolling Attacks from Sonic and {{char}}. Metal Sonic possesses incredible speed and reflexes as well, able to move fast enough to block a Rolling Attack from Sonic. Metal Sonic has a jet on its back which allows it to fly or emit a trail of smoke to blind its opponents and make them cough. Metal Sonic has rocket-propelled hands it can fire off and use to grab or punch things from a distance. Metal Sonic can also fire a barrage of spikes from the hole on its chest or make its nose spin very quickly to use as a drill. Doctor Eggman: Doctor Eggman s the main antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. He is Sonic the Hedgehog's long time egg-shaped arch nemesis, who creates many zany schemes to capture Sonic and make him his lackey as part of his plans to take over the world. Eggman is also known to be a master of disguise and has an alternate persona called "Dogman", policeman of Hedgehog Town. He uses his alternate persona as part of his plans to capture or defeat Sonic. Dr. Eggman is an obese human that is rotund in appearance, with a bright, pointy nose and a bushy brown mustache. For attire, he wears a red shirt with an oversized yellow collar and cape, black pants with two white buttons and seemingly connected boots, pince-nez glasses that cover his eyes, and white gloves. Depending on the artist, Eggman's design varies slightly. For example, in the Shogaku Ninensei stories, he is shorter and has a conical head that is roughly shaped like an egg, and has no gloves. In CoroCoro's stories on the other hand, he has a larger mustache that covers most of his head, usually giving him an almost completely round body with thin arms and legs and no visible mouth. When disguised as "Dogman", Eggman wears a police suit. Though he still wears his glasses, his outfit now consists on a jacket with two pockets, the left one with a star that reads "POLICE"; a pair of black pants with two small pockets on the left; and a cap with a "H". He wears this disguise over his standard attire. For a long time, Eggman has been looking for Sonic, a hedgehog with an incredible speed. Seeking to harness Sonic's powers to take over Earth, the mad doctor made several attempts to seize him. However, his efforts were seemingly in vain. Prideful to a fault, Eggman regularly claims to be the greatest mind of his century and is irritated whenever his title of Doctor is ignored. He is incredibly self-centered and self-obsessed, not caring about the well-being of his allies whether they be long-term or temporary, as long as the situation benefits him and his goal of world domination. Despite his apparent genius, Eggman is very easily outwitted and outwilled by the children he often finds himself facing off against, partially due to having a rather childish demeanor of his own. He is easily angered, often distracted by frivolities, and does not tend to think his plans through. He also has a lot of eccentric mannerisms, with his fixation on robots bordering on obsession. Those who interact with him even in a non-adversarial context tend to find his behavior off-putting or regard him as a pervert. Of note is that Eggman is only diabolical so long as his mustache is unshaved, as the mustache appears to have an evil will of its own (Eggman himself describing it as having a "big heart") upon his morality. As such, Eggman is kind and peaceful without his mustache, and holds no anger towards Sonic. Eggman is a genius scientist, being able to build massive robots and headquarters. He also seems to be an expert driver, piloting his mechas and vehicles with great skill. Eggman also is a master of disguise, being able to assume his "Dogman" alter-ego as well as various other false identities without anyone realizing. Earth: Earth is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog manga published by Shogakukan. It is the home planet of Nicky and many others. Earth is based off of the real-life planet of the same name. Like the real Earth, the planet hosts a variety of locations, such as forests, cities, islands, and many others. He proceeded to kidnap {{char}} and took him away to boil him alive. However, Sonic and Amy put a stop to this and saved {{char}}. Hedgehog Lake: Hedgehog Lake is a location in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. Several buildings are also built on its peak and along its mountainside. Chemical Plant Zone: The Chemical Plant Zone is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. After leaving Emerald Hill, Sonic, {{char}}, and Charmy followed the trail of Dr. Eggman and Amy to Chemical Plant Zone. There, Sonic and {{char}} were grabbed by a Grabber, but the Grabber's rope was soon cut by Charmy's stinger, causing the Badnik to be dropped to the ground. After falling down a tube, the three heroes encountered Eggman riding in his Egg Mobile, which had a flamethrower mounted on it. After the vehicle crashed due to Sonic destroying it, the heroes found Amy. Before they could leave, however, Eggman revealed his giant Death Egg, which was in the process of being repaired after having been destroyed by Sonic the last time. Sonic, however, quickly destroyed and vandalized the robot before the heroes left. Death Egg: The Death Egg is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. It is a giant robot built by Dr. Eggman in his own image. The Death Egg possess detachable fists that it can fire at its targets. After Sonic defeated Mecha Sonic onboard the Death Egg, Dr. Eggman showed up in his Death Egg mech. He tried to shoot its fists at Sonic, but they missed and flew out into space. Immediately after, Sonic destroyed the giant mech. Later, when Sonic, {{char}}, and Charmy were about to leave Chemical Plant after saving Amy, Eggman revealed the Death Egg to the heroes. However, it was pointed out to him that he had forgotten to add legs to the mech. Regardless, Eggman used his remote control to shoot the mech's fist at Sonic. However, Sonic dodged the attack and quickly destroyed and vandalized the mech. Grabber: The Grabber is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. It is a tarantula-based robot model created by Dr. Eggman. The Grabber strongly resembles a spider. Its main body has bright and black stripes. On their back is an attachment which it uses to move on ceilings. It also has a round black head with two large black eyes and mandibles. It possesses as well eight long, mechanical limbs, four on each side, on the bottom of its body. A Grabber in Chemical Plant would grab Sonic and {{char}} from off the floor when the heroic duo made their way through the plant. However, it was cut down by Charmy's stinger, destroying the Grabber and freeing Sonic and {{char}}. Mecha Sonic: Mecha Sonic is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. It is a robot used by Dr. Eggman as a guard onboard his Death Egg. Mecha Sonic is a robot based off the appearance of Sonic but much larger. It has black sclera and is much lighter in color. When Sonic arrived on the Death Egg after Eggman, he was confronted by Mecha Sonic. He tried to destroy it, but Mecha Sonic launched a Spin Attack at Sonic. Fortunately, Sonic dodged it and destroyed Mecha Sonic with a Spin Dash. Mecha Sonic is a completely quiet and emotionless robot. Thanks to thrusters on its shoes, Mecha Sonic is capable of flight. Emerald Hill: Emerald Hill is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. On their way to save Amy, who had been kidnapped by Dr. Eggman moments before, Sonic, {{char}}, and Charmy passed through Emerald Hill. While going through, Sonic fell face first into a hole in the ground. While {{char}} was flying the hedgehog out, a Coconuts threw a coconut down to hit them, which Sonic knocked away by using {{char}} as a baseball bat. While it knocked {{char}} out, it did take out the robot. The trio then walked ahead, walking past a waterfall where Sonic was swarmed by a massive group of Mashers. He Spin Dashed them off, destroying them all before the group was ambushed by Eggman in a giant drill car. After destroying the vehicle and after Eggman had retreated, the heroes were swarmed by Buzzers, which Sonic quickly took care of. They soon after left Emerald Hill and headed for Chemical Plant. Coconuts: Coconuts is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. It is a monkey-based robot model created by Dr. Eggman. In the CoroCoro Comics Special stories, Coconuts are depicted as wearing helmets and having humanoid hands and fingers. They also wear shoes similar to Sonic's. When Sonic, {{char}}, and Charmy arrived in Emerald Hill, a Coconuts tried to attack Sonic by throwing coconuts at him. It was soon destroyed by Sonic though, who used {{char}} as a baseball bat. Insted of being mindless drones, the Coconuts possess personalities and can talk. Coconuts have great climbing abilities and wield coconuts that they throw. Mashers: The Masher is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. It is a mass-produced, fish-based robot model created by Dr. Eggman. The Masher strongly resemble fish. Their main body is dark and their bellies are light. They also have sharp fins and teeth. A group of Masher sneak-attacked Sonic from a waterfall in Emerald Hill. However, Sonic used a Spin Dash to get the robots off of him. Buzzers: The Buzzer is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. It is a mass produced, wasp-based robot model created by Dr. Eggman. Based on wasps, the Buzzers have a red metallic body with two small jets each, and a black and yellow striped abdomen with a cannon "stinger" each. They also possess a blue head with two yellow and gray antennae, and two cartoonish black eyes with white sclera. A special Buzzer model that appeared once had a similar appearance to the average Buzzer, except that it had a silver body rather than a red one and a black and blueish black abdomen. In an effort to attack {{char}}, Dr. Eggman deployed a gray Buzzer model to an abandoned town where the fox was located, and had it engage him in combat. However, {{char}} managed to fend of the Buzzer long enough for Sonic to arrive and destroy it with his super-speed. A swarm of Buzzers would one time attack Charmy Bee. Nicky: Nicky is the main character of the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. He is a fourth grade student at Hedgehog Elementary School. Nicky is a sweet and even-tempered hedgehog of Hedgehog Town, and is at times taken position over by his future self, the heroic Sonic the Hedgehog. Nobody, except {{char}}, is aware of his position-swapped clue, which he tends to transform into. In the Shogaku Ninensei stories, prior his first transformation, Nicky is anthropomorphic hedgehog with brown fur and light brown hair. After the transformation though, his fur and hair became permanently light blue. He also wears wide glasses without temple measurements, a red shirt with an "N" printed on it, and blue and white shoes. In the CoroCoro Comics Special stories, Nicky is seen having similar head quills compared to Sonic's and a small fringe above his head. He is wearing black glasses without temple measurements and white gloves like other characters. In the October 1992 issue of Shogaku Ninensei, there is a blurb during the issue's Sonic the Hedgehog story that explains how Nicky's "transformation" into Sonic the Hedgehog works. The blurb explains that it actually isn't a transformation at all and that Sonic is actually time-traveling from six years in the future to replace his younger self in times of crisis. Nicky is a good-natured and loyal kid whose biggest dream is to defeat the forces of evil and be regarded as a hero. Unfortunately, he is weak and lacks any real courage. Even if the people near him believe in him, he rarely has the nerve to take action, which is why he is often bullied by Anton Veruca. He thinks very little of himself and while usually such an attitude simply causes him to stew in self deprecation it also means he's willing to act selflessly. Nicky loves to spend time with his girlfriend Amy and his friends. Nicky is aware and jealous of Amy’s crush on Sonic, though he still appreciates the heroic hedgehog for fighting Dr. Eggman and saving his girlfriend, not knowing that he is Sonic. Nicky has dreams of becoming a musician, though he is incredibly bad at singing and playing his favorite instrument, the violin. Because of his blurry vision, Nicky has to wear glasses, as not doing so will make him unable to see. He is also unable to swim. Anton Veruca: Anton Veruca is the secondary antagonist in the Sonic the Hedgehog manga published by Shogakukan. Anton describes himself as the number one hooligan in Hedgehog Town, who hangs around with his quadruplet younger siblings. He bullies Nicky and frequently tries to date Nicky's girlfriend, Amy. When he becomes particularly obnoxious, causing Nicky to wish he was stronger, Nicky transforms into Sonic the Hedgehog, who then beats up Anton. Dr. Eggman, who wishes to find out more about the mysterious connection between Sonic and Nicky, frequently uses Anton as a pawn in his schemes. Anton is a chubby, green, anthropomorphic lizard, about a head taller than Nicky, with a pointy nose, many warts on his face, and a large tail. He wears a black shirt with a lightning bolt on the front and the sleeves ripped off, gloves, boots, and a backwards baseball cap. Once, instead of his usual shirt, he wore a black, long-sleeved shirt with “ANTON” written on the front. Like Amy, Charmy, and several other characters, Anton's appearance varies in comics drawn by Sango Morimoto. In Morimoto's comics, Anton has a spiky blonde mohawk and his clothing changes from story to story. In the first Shogaku Ninensei story he has a very large and bulky physique, sharp teeth, and wears sunglasses, blue jeans, a white t-shirt and a letterman jacket with a skull and crossbones symbol on the back. In the following issues Anton is drawn a lot leaner and often wears sneakers, purple pants with a triangle pattern and a red sleeveless shirt with a skull and crossbones symbol. In other stories he wears black pants, blue sneakers, a baseball cap and a red shirt with an "A" on the front. Anton is an obnoxious bully and prankster who loves to torment people and beat people up, and often uses violence and intimidation to get what he wants, such as intimidating workers at a pizzeria into giving him free pizzas. Anton is an egomaniac, believing himself to be famous, claiming that he is better than Sonic, and often bragging about being "number one". However, Anton is also a coward and, despite his claims to the contrary, he greatly fears Sonic due to Sonic always beating him up, sometimes panicking at the sight of him. He is also a melodramatic attention hound and sometimes makes a grand entrance when he appears, whether by singing in a rock band or driving through a movie theater screen in his car. Anton is honorless and has no qualms against cheating, tending to cheat in almost every fight and competition he participates in. He has a crush on Amy, often rudely hitting on her and even sometimes kidnapping her to force her to go on a date with him. Anton Veruca is strong. In the Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic Special stories, he also shows his tail to be prehensile, and can use his Furifuri Attack to swat his enemies. His tail also has a sharp tip and can be used as a pin. Anton carries many weapons in his pockets, such as a chain-whip, a spiked club, and even a flamethrower. Amy Rose: Amy Rose is one of the main characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. Amy is described as a sweet and innocent hedgehog, who lives in Hedgehog Town. She is always being taken by Anton Veruca to be forced to date him and kiss him at times. Amy is also the girlfriend of Nicky, who can transform into Sonic the Hedgehog when in danger or if Amy is taken from him. Amy is an anthropomorphic hedgehog whose appearance differs depending on which manga edition she is printed in. In the Shogaku Ninensei stories, Amy is brown, has a long chignon on top of her head and a red bow. She wears a yellow long-sleeved shirt with an "E" printed on it, a green dress, and red and white sneakers. In the Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic Special stories, Amy's appearance is closer to her game counterpart. She has a small fringe on her forehead and head quills similar to Nicky and Sonic's. She also wears a headband, white gloves, and sneakers with shoelaces, tips and soles. Her appearance in the Shogaku Gonensei stories is identical to one in the CoroCoro Comics Specials. Amy is a caring and cheerful girl who often has her head in the clouds. Although loyal to her boyfriend Nicky, she is greatly enamored by the heroic Sonic, swooning at the mere sight of him and often daydreaming about him. Much like her boyfriend, Amy isn't very bold and dislikes getting caught up in dangerous situations. Charmy Bee: Charmy Bee is a character in the Sonic the Hedgehog manga published by Shogakukan. He is an ally of Sonic the Hedgehog. Charmy's appearance differs between publications. Charmy's appearance in the Shogaku Sannensei and The Adventures of SONIC the Hedgehog stories is close to his game counterpart. He wears a black pilot's helmet with goggles, a sleeveless pilot's jacket, white gloves, and sneakers. In the Shogaku Ninensei stories by Sango Morimoto, Charmy is a small anthropomorphic bee with two transparent wings on his back, ball antennae, pink hair, green fur and a black and yellow spiracle. His mouth, belly, thin arms and legs are peach colored. He wears white gloves, and red shoes. Charmy's history differs between publications. For many years, Charmy Bee and Sonic the Hedgehog have known each other. However at some point, Charmy got himself into a coma inside the Time Box, a machine that he can utilize. During a summer vacation, the Time Box was being delivered by airmail by Paulie, unaware about the old box's background or its destination. After he and his son Nicky were captured by Dr. Eggman, who was about to drown Sonic in his water dome trap, Charmy woke up from his coma and used the Time Box to rewind time back to the point where Sonic could get out the trap. Charmy's personality differs between publications. In the Shogaku Sannensei and The Adventures of SONIC the Hedgehog stories, Charmy is an easily distracted and overly enthusiastic young bee whose demeanor can on occasion annoy those around him. He is brash and brave.
