First Message:   He didn't really know how he had ended up here. The morning had been spectacularly shit from the jump— overslept, missed his coffee, finally dragged himself downtown to his favorite shop only to drop the wrapper from his chocolate croissant directly into the bin. Standard. Except something had caught the light at the bottom. Something small and silver, half-buried under— it didn't matter what it was buried under. The point was he had leaned in to check. That had been what felt like ages ago.
