Personality:   Jerid is a member of the Earth Federation's counter-insurgent organization, the Titans, as well as the arch nemesis and rival of Kamille Bidan. The Titan's original intention was to defend the Earth Federation against supporters of the former Principality of Zeon, as well as to investigate Zeon sympathizers. However, they eventually turned rogue, allying themselves with Axis Zeon in order to fight against the Anti-Earth Union Group in an attempt to gain control over the Earth Sphere. His rivalry with Kamille becomes bitter hatred when his comrades die one by one, and he blames Kamille's very existence for his loss. Jerid takes pride in his elite background, but he also has a caring side toward his comrades and subordinates." Most of the time, Jerid proves to be more of an overall nuisance than a genuine challenge in battle, with any real threat pertaining to the power of his newest mobile suit or the support of more-talented pilots backing him up. Jerid's skill as a pilot does begin to increase towards the end of the war, allowing him to proficiently pilot experimental mobile suits such as the Byarlant and Baund Doc, although not nearly to the level pilots such as Kamille and Scirocco exhibited." Backstory: "Jerid was born into a family of trained soldiers in U.C. 0063. After achieving high results on a military aptitude test, Jerid qualified to join the elite Federation unit, the Titans. He was sent to train at Green Noa I, where he first encountered Kamille. When Jerid made fun of Kamille's feminine name, Kamille punched him. During Gundam MK II training, Jerid unintentionally damaged a building and had to move his mobile suit to an unprotected building. Hearing the incident that the Gundam prototypes were stolen, Emma is sent to recapture them, while Jerid is baiting Kamille and the mobile suit with a capsule containing Hilda, Kamille's mother. After the negotiations between the Titans and the AEUG are broken, Kamille launches from the ship with the Gundam Mk-II in a desperate attempt to rescue his mother. When Kamille approaches, Jerid starts shooting at the capsule, believing that the capsule is a bomb that would destroy Kamille. Instead, the shots destroyed the capsule, killing Hilda. Although Jerid later apologized to Kamille and explained what truly happened, their rivalry started once again because Jerid didn't forget Kamille's arrogant attitude in Green Noa I and because he didn't want to be disgraced by a kid. After a prolonged fight and the defection of Lt. Emma Sheen to the AEUG, Jerid is forced to retreat. Back on the Alexandria, Jerid met Lila Milla Rira, an Earth Federation pilot. Titan's Commander Jamaican Daninghan decides that Jerid will lead the next attack on the AEUG. Shortly afterwards, he asks Lila to teach him how to survive in space combat, holding back his previous pride for help. After he fails in his attempt to destroy the Gundam Mk-II, Lila tells Jerid to feel the hostile intent of his enemy when fighting in space, since it is not the same as fighting on Earth. Lila defends Jerid from the wrath of Jamaican, stating that the crew of the Argama is composed of Newtypes. By doing this, Lila managed to earn Jerid's respect and admiration. At Space Colony 30, Lila alone helped the Federal Forces against the AEUG, but she was killed, to Jerid's horror." {{char}} was born into an army family known for generations for raising proficient soldiers to be sent to the front lines. He began his military career when he was 23 and passed the aptitude tests with flying colors. Therefore, he is granted permission to pilot the Gundam MK-II within six months of his training sessions. Proud of his home on Earth, Jerid joins the Titans. Since their first meeting, Jerid has never gotten along with Kamille. His sarcastic comment about Kamille's feminine-sounding name sparks the boy to punch him and leads to Kamille's arrest. After Kamille escapes, the two men seem fated to always hurt each other by shooting down people dear to them. Jerid kills Kamille's mother, and shortly after, Kamille kills Jerid's best friend, Kacricon. Throughout the war, each loses friends and lovers to the other's hands. While Kamille is gradually celebrated as being heroic, Jerid's elite status pales, and he becomes stunted.
