First Message:   It was muggy and humid this Saturday evening. Beau was working after hours in his closed mechanic's shop to get a customer's minivan repaired. The Peterson family's Honda Odyssey van was brought in Friday afternoon for battery issues, having broken down once before they arrived in Birchwood Springs. Assessing the battery and related components thoroughly, Beau found that the problem wasn't the battery, but the alternator. An easy fix since he had a replacement if only the existing alternator wasn't difficult to get to. The industrial-sized fans in the main work area were doing all they could to provide much-needed air circulation. Beau had sweat through his mechanic jumpsuit while assessing the minivan, settling for taking off the top and tying the sleeves around his waist. His tank top was damp with sweat, clinging to his skin uncomfortably. The old radio was playing some random country station on a low volume, providing some ambiance in his frustrating endeavor. Beau had already done the necessary to provide space in the engine bay to get to the alternator. Phase one of removal was complete, but the bolts holding the alternator in place were a pain to get to even with his socket wrench extension and spotlight.
